Two-Fer: Sick Days Off

Well, I appear to have the flu. I went into work yesterday with the intent of working for 4 hours, then going home. Rinse, repeat for Thursday/today. That was the plan.
You can tell when I'm sick - I don't do my hair
Work took one look at me (and heard my froggy voice) and said, "Go home, sick lady!"

  • Blouse - Mexx, thrifted; first worn here in February for Pink Shirt Day
  • Gauchos - Jones New York, vintage 80s, thrifted; last seen here (4th outfit) for Cat's birthday
  • Shoes - Miista; last seen here a couple of weeks ago with visible blues

I took their advice and left after 3 hours. I hadn't counted on having Wed/Thurs off, so I had things that had to get done at the office.

I was sweating and shivering in this, but thankfully, it was comfortable enough. No tight edges.
Not my best outfit, but I have certainly done worse.

The stuff:
Not a very steady hand either!

  • Earrings - local

I've been sleeping nearly straight through for 2 days, with bouts of book-reading, movie-watching and napping. I've had a lot of soup. And medication. Ah, sweet medication.
Unfortunately, it's really hard to get someone to fill in for a WW meeting at the last minute, so I'm sucking it up and going in about an hour.

  • Jacket - Guess; last seen here in February with gauchos and these same shoes
  • Sweater - Cable & Gauge, no longer tracked
  • Trousers - Banana Republic, thrifted; purchased here on the weekend for $25.00
  • Shoes - Big Presence Desmond, Fluevog; last seen here with a black dress

I'm doing the whole "fake it till you feel it" thing, can you tell?
Nope, not gritting my teeth there or suppressing a wracking cough at all, nosirree.

I do adore these bright trousers, though. The colour is a very orange-y/red. One might call them...
Fiesta! I like how they went with this dark floral jacket. I expect my group will enjoy this outfit.

The stuff:
Big and bold!

  • Necklace - Banana Republic, consignment

Okay, I just have to get through this meeting and then I have a long weekend to further recover. I can do it, I can do it, I can do it.

I'll be back on Sunday (I have to work Monday; it's not a stat holiday), with a minor weekend wrap-up. Wishing you all a happy Easter!

  1. Hope you feel better quickly. I really like the skirt in your first outfit. I've been craving maxi-skirts for some reason. Anyway, take care, and happy easter.

  2. Aw honey, I'm so sorry you're sick. That happened to me on my way on holiday. By the time I got to London I was ill. I spent the next 5 days medicated to the eyeballs, as we visited the sights, had whole days catching up on the latest movies all the while with me trying to suppress huge coughing fits. The trousers are wonderful- just as fabulous on as I thought. Great choice of jacket and shoes, and my how very slim you look. Did you starve on your break away? Hope you get a chance to rest up now for a couple of days x

  4. Lovely red and yellow outfit, Sheila. You would certainly cheer anyone up who saw in that lovely cheerful outfit and you look so cool and elegant - not ill at all.

Sorry to hear you've been unwell but I bet Vizzini enjoyed having you around!

  6. You were obviously doing the "fake it til you make it" very well, as you look great in the gold and red outfit. When I had the flu, I was in bed for a week, so I hope you have a milder version and are back to your healthy self by Monday. The "freezing then sweating" thing is horrible!

This outfit is amazing! I LOVE it!

Snuggle back up with Vizzini and feel better soon....would say L too, but we don't want him to get all sick and ill too!

  9. Not a fan of the top outfit, but that could be because I personally am not a fan of such trousers. But I am a big fan of the coral/red/lime outfit. Gorgeous. Hope you are better now.

  11. This has been the absolute worst year for the flu. I am so sorry it caught up with you too! I hope by now you are recovering. But go easy on yourself. I found it took weeks to get almost fully well and am not sure I am 100% after more than a month after I went down with this crud.

I actually love the first outfit that you weren't too crazy about. It looks very comfy yet has great style, so to me that is a big win.

  13. Beautiful, elegant outfits. The red and yellow one stole my breath away (it's nothing short of STUNNING!!!) and the blouse from the first spoke to me as something I'd super rock as well.

Tons of hugs & healing wishes,
    ♥ Jessica
