First, a note to Vronni, whose blog Vronni's Style Meanderings I love: I can't comment on your blog because it only accepts Google+ profiles (which I don't have!) and I refuse to give them any information about me - I'm reading, I just can't comment. Sorry for plunking this here, but you don't have an email in your profile.
Okay, back to the show! Lookee, an outfit!
I wasn't too sure about this top when I bought it, but I really do love it. Such a work of art!- Blouse - Cartise, consignment; first worn here in January with tux pants and turquoise
- Skirt - Talbots, consignment; last seen here in February with gingkos
- Shoes - Two Lips, consignment; purchased here on the weekend for $25.00
I hope the zaniness of the shirt offsets the conservative skirt. Ha, conservative! Well, it is fuzzy mohair, and it's a little on the short side, but it reminds me of a grandmother colour, you know, like a "church skirt."
Grooving on this lilac grey colour.
The stuff:
My new-to-me shoes were lovely to wear all day. Also, so shiny!
Green bling:
Green is good.
- Ring - consignment
- Earrings - Stella and Dot, consignment
Love, love, love those shoes! I gasped when I saw them in your weekend wrap-up post and they're even better in an outfit. Stunning!
ReplyDeleteThe end look is very chic Sheila. I love these three pieces together, and I think that each piece elevates the others...especially those sparkly shoes!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, church skirt. I love it and paired with the top and shoes. The top is maaaadness, in the best way.
ReplyDeleteAnother person here loving the sparkly shoes! :)
ReplyDeleteThe pencil skirt really lets the shirt take all the attention too, great pairing and a lovely shirt :)
(Oh Sheila - thank you for your comment! I'm so sorry you can't comment on my blog with out Google+ but I think that Google+ might be the problem. If things haven't improved in a few days I'll add the google+ thing again - so do keep reading! I'll add an email address, as well).
ReplyDeleteAnyway - your outfit. Absolutely fabulous jacket - no it's a stunning jacket and looks like a work of art. You look gorgeous in it and the plainer skirt is just right. You have such good legs!
I love green and green bling, in fact I'm wearing green today, too.

It's a great shirt and perfectly paired with this (not-in-the-least-churchy) skirt. Loving all these greys together, utterly chic, but then a bit of zing with those blingly shoes, hahaha, lovely!

Hahahaha grandmother skirt!! I think not, Sheila :) that top is amazing, it looks like origami (and yours truly is a big fan of Issey Miyake). And I still can't get over your hair. If only it were easy to bleach Asian hair xoxo
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the jacket's structure - it's such an unusual garment. Like wearing art !
ReplyDeleteVronni, it's Google+ that prevents me from commenting, because I refuse to give them my personal information.
ReplyDeleteLorena, it's not a jacket - it's a shirt! It's a stretchy mesh with thin white strips sewn to it.
This top is amazing. I mean. One of the coolest pieces I've seen on a blog. And I think the styling is perfection. I love this!!!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, what you are able to find in thrift shops... I so envy you. This blouse is indeed a work of art, and you ar right to pair it with that skirt. Besides, in today's eyes, this skirt is modern. The shoes are so nice too. I wish I had found them.

PS I love your cat stories as I am just as mad about my cat.
Hi Sheila!
ReplyDeleteI have a beautiful KENZO jacket that found for pretty much nothing. I thought the size on it was wrong (a very mean size 14 in the UK) but it turns out to be an actually quite generously sized child's jacket.
Sensational blouse. Bet it washes like a dream. Cartise is top quality and design, IMO.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing your custom closet that you mentioned a few days ago. It's like you read my mind.
