Bring On the Bling!

I have a lot of clothes that stand alone and don't need a lot of accessories - they're usually heavily patterned or ornamented or ruffled, what have you.
This top and bottom are fairly plain (but with interesting texture, good quality fabrics, nice cuts) so I amped up the bling and accessories.

  • Sweater - Banana Republic, consignment; purchased here last weekend
  • Skirt - Etcetera, gift from Megan Mae; last seen here in January being directorial
  • Boots - Velazquez Baroque, Fluevog; last seen here in December 2013 (WHAT?) with a bustier for work

I love wide-winged sweaters like this (I have a teal one and a marigold yellow one too). They help balance my bust, and they keep me from getting pitsy (thank you, perimenopause) 'cause I can just flap my wings and air things out. Bonus!
Tulip-shaped midi skirt? Been wearing this style for years - about time the trends caught up.

The stuff:
I can't believe I haven't worn these boots since last December! This is obviously an oversight that must be remedied. These are fabulously comfortable (they zip up on the inside; I don't have to lace them every time!).

Much bling:
I like to jazz things up. Life's too short for dull outfits!

  • Belt/buckle - Shi Studio
  • Necklace/bracelet/earrings - Myka Jewelry, gifts from L
  • Two copper rings - vintage fair
  • Thumb ring - consignment
No hootin' and/or hollerin' at me today. I'll have to step up my game!

  2. Love how you've added interest with your accessories!

I think this is my kind of outfit. I don't have many statement clothes - most of my prints are rather neutral to be honest - but I do like interesting accessories! :)

  3. It's true that a simpler silhouette and plain colours allow your fabulous accessories to shine.
You haven't worn those fabulous boots for nearly a year? You're a crazy woman, Sheila - wear them once a week, all winter, I insist! xxx

  4. If I could wear boots like that, I'd be wearing them every other day. I love the colour!
