Tweed Two-Fer! And a Cat in a Tunnel

I'm not going to apologize for not posting yesterday, nor will I say I'm sorry for not visiting your blogs - I am just exhausted from working so many extra hours this and last week. Danged newsletter!
But I will get right to the point and get my last two outfits up, so that I can move on. Here we go.

I sort of have an unintentional tweed theme going over the past few days. It wasn't planned; I just wanted to wear some of the things in my closet that I like.

  • Jacket - Findlay, thrifted; last seen here in September on a wee shopping expedition
  • Sweater (underneath) - Main Fung, thrifted; last seen here way back in March as part of my Vancouver mini-wardrobe
  • Skirt - Tobias, thrifted; last worn here in July with a side of Kermit
  • Boots - Gold Button; last seen here in March for breakfast at the diner

I didn't take the jacket off at all, except for my brief foray out to get my hair cut after work. I had to go back to work after my haircut, boo.
That's an exceptionally swooshy skirt!

The stuff:
I liked these boots quite a bit, more than I did earlier this year when I first bought them.

I forgot to do a solo picture of the copper bling, but this is what I wore:

  • Necklace/earrings - Renoir, vintage 60s
  • Rings - vintage fairs and consignment
  • Belt - Club Monaco

I totally crashed last night - I was barely able to stay awake for an hour.

I did manage to take some pictures of Vizzini and his new hiding spot:
"I am totally invisible!"
I love how he seems to think he can't be found.
"Just chillin' here in my round furry hidey-hole."
The tunnel has crackly paper sewn into one side.
"You can't see me"
He loves to race through it and attack us!

Today is another day. Indeed it is.
And another tweed jacket! This outfit elicited oohs and aaahs from one of the classiest dressers at work. She just loved it. Another one of my coworkers, who likes that I push the envelope, agreed that it was fairly conservative. I guess yellow shoes are very businesslike these days!

  • Jacket - Pink Tartan, consignment; last worn here with the matching skirt in November 2013
  • Skirt - Boss Orange, Hugo Boss, consignment; last seen here in July with shoes my husband hates
  • Top - Cable & Gauge, thrifted; last seen here (2nd outfit) earlier this month with Etro
  • Shoes - Poetic Licence; last seen here in November 2013 (ooh, I like that outfit a lot)

The jacket is even more stunning in person - it used to belong to Kim Cattrall!
The wide swooshiness and the upper-calf length of the silk skirt (I have a full-length vintage slip on under everything too) helped to balance the strong lines and shoulders of the jacket.

The stuff:
Amazing shoes! I love Poetic Licence's designs.

Vintage bling:
I bought myself this necklace (and a matching jangly bracelet) years ago to celebrate getting a new job. I made the earrings from two pieces off the necklace.

  • Necklace/earrings - vintage Bakelite
  • Spinner ring - Twang & Pearl
  • Stone ring - 90s
  • Bronze ring - P. Sarpaneva, vintage 70s, vintage fair

Phew! I'm outta here until Sunday, but don't forget about Shoe Shine, starting midnight Friday!

  1. you rock tweed!! lovely jackets and lovely accessorizing!! and those yellow shoes are fabulous!!
    also lovely Mr.vizzini pics! mwahaha!!

  2. Love the tweed blazers and the fab booties!
    Dawn Lucy

  3. Great tweeds! And the silk skirt - I love the silk skirt. Rest up for the weekend! xox

  4. Both outfits have a sort of 1940s Lady Detective vibe going on - cool! You know, if you're tired and struggling for time, it's perfectly permissible to change to a less frequent posting schedule! xxx

  5. Sheila, sweetie... I think you need a break. You're showing signs of burnout. I recognize them because I suffer from them often. It seems that you're pushing to blog without your normal reservoir of energy. Get some rest. We'll be here when you come back. (If I'm off-base, then just ignore me.)

  6. Awww Vizzini! Silly kitty. I definitely hear you on the dropping off to sleep thing. Some days I barely make it out of my work clothes and I'm snoring away.
