Dress Week continues!
And I intend to carry it on for a full week, so right up to Monday. Feeling inspired? Give it a try! Dresses are awesome.
Also awesome? Valentine's Day.
Bam! V-Day in your face! My office has been decorated with coloured paper hearts with quotes about love for 2 weeks, and we've been having Valentine's trivia draws for chocolates and little prizes daily. I didn't win any of the draws, but for the final day today I won a huge box of chocolates. Aw!I got a lot of comments on this and quite a bit of the side-eye from strangers when I went outside during the day. I felt like a Japanese cartoon character, and one of my co-workers said, "You look like candy!"
What would you think if you saw this woman on the street? |
Starting off with this amazing pink dress. I first wore it here (3rd outfit) for L's birthday party in June 2013. I only paid $13.50 for it at WIN, so now I'm down to $6.25 per wear. It's vintage, probably from the early- to mid-60s and probably never worn. I love that it's silk shantung.
Wrinkly butt! |
Outerwear shot:
Still a little too chilly but it's definitely gotten warmer the last couple of days. Spring is in the air!
I love that red coat so much. We're almost in leather weather!
The stuff:
I'm so in love with these red shoes. Love. Last wore them here in January when I was sick.
Copper bling:
I really liked how the copper went with the pink and red. These are a mix of 60s and 70s, and the pieces are from all different sets (except the cuff and the earrings, given to me as a set), including a rogue single earring (bottom right), which I clipped to my cardigan just above the vaguely heart-shaped brooch.
Dress (Junior Vogue, vintage 60s, thrifted), cardigan (no label, consignment), shoes (Marc), obi (thrifted), cuff/earrings (Grandma J, vintage 60s, Renoir), single clip earring (vintage 60s, Renoir), open cuff (vintage 70s), pin (vintage, thrifted).
I don't think I could stomach having all that kind of stuff going on at work - too sweet and mushy for the cynic in me - but I can't argue with your pretty candy colors! All the copper bling is perfect with the red and pink.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors! Happy Valentine's Day, Sheila.
ReplyDeleteIf I saw you on the street, I'd give you a big smile...just like the one I'm wearing now! Clothing should be fun and expressive and happy. And hallo! It is Valentine's Day! Lucky you, wearing this adorable outfit, and winning a box of chocolates!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute Valentine's outfit! I really like pink and red together, although I rarely try it as I don't own a lot of red clothes. The copper belt and accessories are a great touch :)
ReplyDeleteWhat would I think if I saw you on the street? I would think hurray, someone who love colour, isn't afraid to stand out, and whose wardrobe I would probably envy! Seriously loving the dress, silk is so delicious, and it works a treat with all the red and copper. xxxx
ReplyDeleteGet your colors on, Sheila! You look yummy, and enjoy a piece of chocolate today from your winnings (Sandy and I got each other the exact same Ghirardelli's). xo
ReplyDeleteGosh your outfit is gorgeous! Because of the snow I didn't get a chance to pink it up on V-day. I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR 'Stuff'. The copper is just killer. That belt. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLook at you! Pretty in pink! What a perfect Valentines Day outfit - I love the pink and red combo. Belated Happy Valentines Day to you!
