Happy long Easter weekend! I have tomorrow off but not Monday (boo), but still - long weekend!
I rebelled today by wearing denim - it's not even Friday! Shocking! I don't think anyone noticed. This is wear number 2 of my Vivienne Westwood pumps - I wore them previously here last weekend. I had planned to wear the same grey bustier top underneath this blazer, but it was too boobalicious for work. Must wear it over a button-down or something.
The blazer was worn 4 times in my June 2012 all-neutral capsule (recap here). I still really love it - it's in its 4th year in my closet.
The skirt is another piece that I love - this shape is so rockin' on me (if I do say so myself). It was worn 3 times in the March 2012 capsule (recap here).
Butt shot!
The teal shot was quickly switched out for the grey bustier this morning - it was featured 3 times in the December 2012 capsule (recap here). I chose teal because I'd already selected the copper jewelry and I like how teal and copper contrast.
The stuff:
I'm keeping the shoes. They were fine for work, a bit sweaty near the end of the day, and a slight rub on the top of one foot, but good considering I wore them all day. It's nice to have a white/cream shoe that's a little dressier but doesn't look like a wedding shoe.
The jewelry set is my grandmother's and is from the 50s.
Have an awesome weekend!
Jacket (Club Monaco, consignment), top (Jones New York, consignment), skirt (OptionElle, consignment), shoes (Vivienne Westwood "Anglomania + melissa", consignment), necklace/earrings/cuff (Renoir, vintage 50s, Grandma J).
Copper is probably my favorite metallic. It also makes a good pot! Lol. I kept wondering about those shoes and if they caused foot-sweat. As cute as they are, they do look like they'd be uncomfortable. And I used to wear jelly shoes every summer growing up (gross!!)
ReplyDeleteI've heard a rumor that the Melissa's have a scented plastic. Rumor or true?
I love copper jewelry - it's hard to find really nice pieces.
DeleteThese are open enough, and the inner sole is fabric enough, that they let my feet breathe well. I didn't notice a scent, but they don't stink of plastic like jelly shoes did in the 80s. They're definitely not perfumed (like some of my tights are!).
I am glad you could wear these ok Sheila - I had a pair of these (but flats, in purple) and they rubbed my bare feet raw one holiday :-(
DeleteP.s you are right, the skirt is a lovely shape.
I am off Friday but also work on Monday.
ReplyDeleteI am wondering why you would consider giving away those amazing Vivienne Westwood for Melissa shoes ? I have a red pair from that collection and they are probably one of my most comfortable shoes ever. Money well spent.
Hi, Lorena! I'm trying to make sure I don't buy a pair of shoes (or anything else) just because it's cool or a good price, so I'm wearing them 2-3 times in a short span to quickly find out if there are any tragic flaws, like foot pain. I'm happy that these are pretty comfy and so I'm keeping them. If they'd killed my feet or slipped off with every step (a problem I have with slingbacks), I would have regretfully passed them on to someone else. No point in keeping items that don't work!
DeleteThis is lovely with the teal top! I really like the denim maxi too. Hope you enjoy your long weekend.
ReplyDeleteCute skirt, and the whole outfit has such a nice silhouette. Love the white jacket for springtime!
ReplyDeleteI like this skirt on you too. Love the shoes. Rockin' for sure!
ReplyDeleteI'm such a nimrod - I thought Easter was LAST weekend. Doh. That skirt is smashing on you. And I love the adjustable heel strap on those shoes. Have a great long weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe accessories here are so much fun...cool shoes! Enjoy your weekend, Shelia!
ReplyDeleteGreat skirt, Sheila - it has wonderful line, and you wear it so well. Love the copper jewelry too and the fab shoes - you're right, it's hard to find non-wedding white heels.
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is FABULOUS--it definitely makes your "booty" look amazing!! I love the VW shoes-way cool!!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous weekend!!
I don't have Monday off either, but I do have today!
ReplyDeleteI love your long denim shirt and as usual I'm in awe of your shoes!
