Oatmeal (and Leopard Shoes)

Not a very exciting outfit today - very June Cleaver, in fact.
I last wore this dress here. I love the cut of this dress, although the colour is very oatmeal: bland without some bright yummy fruit in it! However, this being my Tuesday WW-a-thon, I have certain requirements in my outfit: must have pockets to carry my bus pass, keys and mp3 player (I wore a jacket over this when I was out and about to fulfill that), must have walking shoes, must not be too whackadoo.

Check, check and check.

Plus I was pretty tired last night and not particularly inspired. Solution: wear a dress!

The stuff:
Comfy shoes, stretchy belt, swingy earrings.

Oh, and a chunky wood ring:
I have something a little more dramatic in store for tomorrow...

Dress (Reitman's, consignment), belt & earrings (Plum), ring (Dots), shoes (don't recall, a few years old).

  1. But isn't it refreshing sometimes to let your personality shine through? It's a great fit, in any event!

  2. I think you still make a toned down outfit 'you'. The leopard shoes for example are pure Sheila.

I'm weirdly obsessed with beige shades right now. I like your shirt dress and think it looks comfy, cool and perfect for summer. Sometimes you just need a simple dress.

I think as fashion bloggers we begin to realize how easy it is to just put on a dress, belt and shoes. Many "normal" people see it and think "Oh they're so put together/that's gotta be hard."

Also I see you had help with today's photo shoot! It's now become a game of Where's Inigo?

  4. A scarf or shiny necklace might have made you feel more fruity. :) But I like the addition of the chunky ring; it shows the choice to go neutral and browns was deliberate and consistent. Works for me!

  5. You still shine through. And some days youi don't want or need a lot of bells/whistles. Meow to the shoes!

  7. Cara, that's so sweet of you, thank you!

Megan, it was fine to wear - I'm glad I did the leopard. I love the cut of the dress, if not the colour so much. I think you are so right - that's a good reminder that even my so-called "boring" outfits are still pretty dressy by most people's standards. Hee, you found Inigo, good job!

    Dimi, thank you, sweetie!

Kristen, yeah, I half-heartedly tried that, but it felt like too much with the big earrings. Thanks!

Patti, thank you. Hurray for leopard!

    Rebecca, thank you so much!
