If you're interested, please check out the
edited entry for the weekend - I added a couple of pictures of the rubber outfits from the fashion show (thank you, Elaine!)
Today, I wanted to wear one of the pieces I thrifted on the weekend, this funky striped cardi:
I tied the loose ends up, but they can also be worn hanging down. This was all of $9.99. Score!
I love this blue skirt - it's the colour of robin's eggs. I last wore it
here.
The outside shot:
I really like how this almost-pastel shade worked with the grey.
I just layered a camisole underneath:
And wore these shoes again (last seen
here).
The stuff:
I love the stripes with this too.
A close-up of the accessories:
My Shi Studio cuff, my grandmother's jet bead necklace and some stone earrings.
Cardigan (Express, thrifted), skirt (Cabri, thrifted), camisole (RW & Co.), shoes (Qupid), cuff (Shi Studio), necklace (Grandma J's, vintage 1950s), earrings (The Cobbler).
Love the cut and color of that skirt. How perfect is that cuff for this outfit? 9.99 is a pretty good deal for a draped cardigan, wish I could find a couple for that price.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the fashion show photos. Looks like a great time.
Is that a forest green shirt? If so, that's a fascinating colour combination that I would have never thought worked so well!
ReplyDeleteOf course, I did spend the day sending pictures of purple dresses to my sister, and when she saw them on her monitor, and then I found them in person, they were all blue. I think I need to do a bit of recalibrating!
Megan, me too - I think it's from the late 90s. Glad you liked the pics!
ReplyDeleteCara, I'm wearing a dark grey camisole (unless you mean the blouse in the link from when I last wore the skirt? that blouse is emerald green). The cardi is grey and cream and the skirt is robin-egg blue. You really need to re-calibrate your monitor!
Really amazing "Sheila" outfit!! I have tons of respect and admiration for your endless color combos!! And that blue is almost my favourite shade!! Kisses darling! :)
ReplyDeleteThe skirt IS a beautiful color - very suited for YOUR personal coloring, I think.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Where DO you store all your clothes and how do you organize them? (Could it be that you've done a "closet" post and I've forgotten it?)
Great score on the cardi. I'm going thrifting today and only hope to approach your accomplishments! : >
ReplyDeleteI love the grey with the blue skirt; it's summery and chic. Beautiful jet beads too, that have family ties.
Thanks, Dimi! I would never have looked at this bright blue in the old days.
ReplyDeleteRebecca, thank you! I've actually done two closet posts in the last few years --> look in the sidebar, under "Stuff About Me" > Fashion Stuff, and you'll see "My Closet (2008)" and "My Closet (2011)".
Patti, thanks! Good luck!
That cardigan is all sorts of amazing. And, not surprisingly, you've made it work perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteC&B, thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteAlyx, thanks!
