Eyes on the Prize - Black, White and Green

Today was a stressful day - work is just stressful in general these days. I've been trying to figure out how to wear this ribbon and rhinestone pin/clip that Mom picked up for me in LA, but it's baffled me until now. It reminds me of the rosettes I won in the agricultural fair when I was a kid:
It's my award for still having a job. I actually like it with this skirt; the skirt's a bold pattern which helps to balance the rosette.

I'm trying to wear semi-sensible shoes this week, since there's a big 10K race on Sunday.

The stuff:
Yup, that's stuff.

Sweater (Max Studio), skirt (Tommy Hilfigger), cami (InWear), belt (no brand), shoes (Wild Diva), rosette pin (White House/Black Market, gift from Mom), crystal stud earrings.

  1. Brooch looks great - you could also try it clipped on to a belt at your waist, maybe off to one side?

  2. For some reason I can't see your photo today.
Good luck with the race and hope it helps relieve some stress.

  3. Love the look today. It really reminds me of something I wore a couple of months ago. I think I have the same comment for you that I had for myself - It's a great look that would be even better if the skirt was about an inch shorter. Of course, I haven't bothered to hem my skirt b/c it looks fine and I am lazy, so who am I to comment?

I think kiltsnquilts had a great suggestion - the brooch could definitely be worn at the waist!

  4. Hi, kiltsnquilts, and welcome! That's a great idea - I did try that with this outfit, but it didn't work with this belt. But I will try it again with a different outfit.

Jane, is it working now? Thanks so much!

    Thanks, Alison!

Aw, thanks, Tina! I know, it's a little long, but I am SO lazy, and the skirt has beading on the pattern on the bottom 6 inches that I don't want to lose.

    Thanks, Sal!

  6. Thanks, Sallymandy! I love pretty much any shade of green.
