Casual Thursday - Hippy Chic(k)

Three things:

1. Today's outfit:
Two of my new-to-me purchases of the last couple of weeks: my cream Parasuco jeans and my silk Zara tunic top.

The Parasuco jeans are "Extreme Fit" which seems to mean "very high-waisted and straight-legged with a bit of a flare". They make me laugh, partly because I recall this being a very big brand in the late 80s/early 90s, and partly because, boy, high-waisted pants feel WEIRD. I mean, the zipper is nearly 5.5" long! Anyway, they are still below my belly button, and they were only $11.00 so what the hell.

I love the top - it was $22.00 - it's a gorgeous silk and the colours are so pretty. The neck is actually elastic; no zippers or buttons or anything. It's sleeveless, and I really like the asymmetrical hemline.

I actually hate this short brown cardi. It sheds like stink (it's wool and cashmere) and my armpits looked like a hippy chick's when I took it off.

The stuff:
Bigass platforms, the standard link necklace and bigass hoops. Dang, I just realized that my hypno ring isn't there. It must have fallen off! I hope it's at work.

2. The funkadelic Sue at Della Street Dreaming asked to interview me on my One Year Blogiversary; she's posted it here. Please visit her cool blog. When I grow up, I want to be like Sue.

3. I'm off tomorrow and I took Monday off as well (I curse those companies that don't consider Monday a holiday!), and I'm not going to have any outfits for several days. So, I'm taking requests.

Is there something in my wardrobe you'd like to see? Any fashion questions? Suggestions for theme weeks? Ask away...

Have a lovely Easter weekend!

Cardigan (Jacob), blouse (Zara Woman, consignment), jeans (Parasuco, thrift), shoes (Le Chateau), necklace (Plum), gold hoop earrings (gift from L).

  2. You are always dressed so ____ fill in almost any positive adjective and it would work. I love your outfit today, too.

  5. Love the tunic! The lovely browns suit you so well.
As for high-waisted jeans, I fight with this constantly in plus-sized jeans and pants. I guess I'm supposed to have a a more substantial bit of fat in the front to fill up the space but instead I just end up with the front part of the waistband 4 inches above my belly button and the back of the waistband where it should be. This 'standard' fit is a mystery to me.

  7. Thanks, Londyn!

MM, you're too sweet, thanks. Happy Easter!

Alison, isn't it lovely? I've posted lots of pics of my closet and shoes before, but maybe I'll do another shoe post when I pull out the spring/summer ones from storage (and put away my boots, sob).

    Eednic - that's great! Thanks.

    Thanks, Hillary!

    Thanks, Sal!

Leigh-Anna - yeah, I love the colours in it. How frustrating those pants sound! I rarely buy pants because they never fit right.

Thanks, Mervat! Ha, sorry for the image!

    Lmac, thanks!

Alison, there are a lot of shoes...I think I last did a closet post in September/October?
