As I'm in the small percentage of women who attend this, I like to glam it up. Hell, why not?
This year, I decided to go with my leopard skirt. It's not really work appropriate, so I don't get the chance to wear it too often. I always keep it simple with a black turtleneck, but thought I'd add some interest with the red tights (to go with my bright red lipstick), brown boots and the faux fur stole, decorated with Grandma J's brooch, of course:
We walked down, so I knew I'd be freezing, and this lovely stole (and the matching faux fur-trimmed gloves) kept me nice and snuggly in the cold weather.
I had many drunken people petting me and purring at me. Haha!
Turtleneck (Smart Set), skirt (Le Chateau, consignment), boots (Roberto Vianni), stole (Parkhurst), tights (Hue), brooch (Grandma J, Pastelli (stamped)), crystal stud earrings.
Sound like a great time - and a great outfit.
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is fantastic and I'm jealous of the stole.
ReplyDeleteSO glad you rocked that skirt! It looks amazing on you, and shouldn't be languishing in the closet.
ReplyDeleteI can see why people were petting and purring all night. You have a lot of great textures in that ensemble.
ReplyDeleteIs there a Vodka Fest as well? That would be my cup of tea.
Rowr! You look fabulous!Love your skirt.
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone! You're all too kind.
ReplyDeleteAlison, no, I haven't purchased from Zappos.com, but I've heard really good things about them (and What Not to Wear buys from them). I'm more of a hands-on shopper. Can't wait to see those boots on you! Thanks for the email.
I found the stole in the glove and hat section of the department store - I'm sure there are a lot of them around right now. Check clearance racks!
Okay, this settles it, I will keep the skirt.
Cat, no vodka fest that I'm aware of. That would be fun...
This is SUPER! I have a stole like that and will try to duplicate this outfit on my blog, so be watching! I need a better skirt though. mine is a Dolce and Gabbana that is meant to be a bathing suit cover up so it's out of lycra...ewwww.
ReplyDeleteI think this outfit is totally work appropriate!
Thanks, Karen! It's not work appropriate for my work, in my opinion - the leopard is a little too overtly sexy.
ReplyDeleteI will keep an eye out on your blog (which I love).
