Green Glitz and Glamour

Greetings from the green!
I was chuffed with myself at how well my shoes and tights matched today. I was expecting them to be in the same colour range, but they matched exactly. It's like I planned it!

  • Dress - Adrian, vintage 60s, thrifted; purchased here in November for $14.50
  • Shoes - Fly London; last seen here in August with Danger Pants!

Killer dress - it fits me like it was made for me, doesn't it? I briefly attended a work function tonight - I organized it and sent out the invitations and of course I know nearly everyone, so I dropped by for one drink - and many strangers were compelled to tell me how awesome I looked.

Why, thank you!
It was a stinkin' busy day, though, and I'm happy to be home, although off to my strata AGM (annual general meeting, snore) shortly.

The stuff:
I'm always surprised when I see that it's been a few months since I wore these shoes. They are very comfy and such a funky style. But my feet are quite sore now, after wearing them for over 10 hours.

Vintage bling:
I wore the pin at the V of the dress' neckline - you can see it pretty well in the first picture. The bracelets were both Mom's, liberated from her jewelry box around 1984.

  • Brooch - Coro, vintage 60s, vintage fair
  • Bottom bracelet - Coro, vintage 60s, Mom's
  • Top bracelet - vintage 60s, Mom's
  • Death Star ring - Stone Roses
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes
  • Earrings - local

This has been a relatively quiet week for me, but L's been sick and dealing with work stress, so I tend to take that on as well (not the sick part, yay!). I'm soldiering through. Two more days. I can make it.

  3. I love it when someone MUCH younger than I can put on a dress from the 60's and totally ROCK it! Now if I were to try to pull that off, realizing y'all that in the 60's I was in my teens and 20's, I would appear FRUMPY! Is it any surprise that you received compliments from complete strangers? You GO girlfriend!

  4. This dress looks like it came from Jacky O's wardrobe !
What a marvellous garment - I love how you can just wear different decades of items and make it all work.
