Kicking it off with Friday's outfit, which was very flowy and chill.
I spotted this dress when digging around for my "last worns" recently and thought, "Huh, I should wear that." And so I pulled it out.
- Robe - Theyskens' Theory, RTW Fall 2011, thrifted; purchased here for $29.47
- Dress - Nanette Lepore, thrifted; last worn here (2nd outfit) in December 2023
- Shoes - Groovy Aubrey, Fluevog; last seen here in October 2024 with snakes and pleather
- Coat (below) - Halston, vintage 70s, consignment, Sidney; last worn here in December 2024
I noticed that this new-to-me Oliver Theyskens wrap-jacket-robe-thing worked with the olive greens in the branch-y pattern.
Even though I have layers on under the dress (a cami, a pouffy slip, sporty shorts, tights), I appreciated the warmth of this linen blend. The silk lining is so lovely! I didn't want to hide the dress by closing it with the ties, so I wore it open like a robe.
The added bonus was that I had two pockets, since the dress has none.
I only tied it up when I put my coat on, but I'd totally wear it like this - doesn't it look great?
I secured the leather belt in the back.
Without the robe. I tossed it off after huffing up the stairs in the morning.
It's a lovely dress - not too frou-frou. The cuffs, waist and neck are all smocked with elastic.

Outerwear. I liked all these warm coppery tones together.
A couple of teenagers said hello to me and admired my hat while I was on my way home. I've been seen!

L and I had a quiet night of music and boardgames - much needed after a busy week and the partying of last weekend.
"You should always be home with me."
Vizzini and I do "house tours" sometimes, and I lift him up to smell things, since he can't see too well anymore. He's very cuddly in the cold weather.
Ahoy! I see crisp, sunny, cold weather ahead. Not quite mink coat weather, but I definitely needed layers. After a fun-filled evening, we were up early to join Ron and Nick at John's Place for brunch.
- Merino wool sweater - Lord & Taylor, consignment; last seen here in December 2024, layered under Etro
- Denim tunic - Emoji X Peacebird, consignment; last worn here in September 2024 for a Mom-Day at Westsong Walkway
- Plaid pants - H&M, consignment; last seen here in March 2024 with white bookends
- Boots - F-Trip Etta, Fluevog; first worn here in November 2024 with razzle-dazzle stripes
- Leather coat (below) - Danier Leather; last seen here in November 2024
I wanted to wear these boots again - how have I only worn them ONCE? - so I built the outfit around them.
The denim tunic has yellow on it, and had yet to be worn this season, so I started with that.

And then I just went with primary colours.

Carolyn was busy with family stuff, so hubby Ron joined us for brunch.
"Hey, my boys! everyone smile!"
Nick's beard is getting lush!
My outerwear look was how most people saw me.
The blue hat and the yellow boots got a lot of love.

L and I chilled out on Saturday night, playing board games into the wee hours. Vizzini snuggled in on a pillow next to me.
"Sleeping, shhhhh..."
How was YOUR weekend? Any exciting news?
Thanks so much for stopping by, my friends!
Oh! Vizzini looks so cuddly, especially in that last pic! I was always so torn when my girls were laying like that- you want to let them nap their happy little nap, but the exposed chin just begs to be skritched! (Great outfits also by the way! Thank you for taking my mind off of the impending Cheeto Satan doom here tomorrow…)
ReplyDeleteHe's so sweet when he's sleeping. I always bury my face right in there!
DeleteThanks so much! Glad to provide a bit of distraction...
Hello Sheila! Love that topper in the first photo and how you looked out in the street and the tartan trousers with the blue Cossack hat and canary yellow boots is wonderfully cheery. Gorgeous photo of you cuddling Vizzini and him snuggling on his blanket.
ReplyDeleteOur weekend was much like yours, spent in good company. Xxx
Thanks so much, Vix! I loved the weekend outfit, very visible and out there! Sweet little Vizz, he just wants to cuddle and sleep all the time, old boy.
DeleteNice!
We've had another quiet weekend and currently any socializing is being done vicariously through your and Vix's posts!
ReplyDeleteI would wear Friday's outfit in its entirety in a heartbeat and Saturday's brunch outfit is such a joy to behold. I can't repeat it enough but those yellow patent leather boots are the stuff of dreams! xxx
I need to go check out what Vix has been up to!
DeleteAw, thank you, Ann! I love the yellow boots too!
Goodness, these are two GREAT outfits!!!
ReplyDeleteThe first one is so pretty and so well matched - I love the wrap and dress with the pops of orangey red!
The second one is super cool esp with the outer layers-that hat is superb!!
The yellow boots are so cheerful!
Thanks so much, Kezzie! I liked both of them, but preferred Saturday's overall. I love the yellow boots too!
DeleteI'm puzzled. Do you wear pretty clothes so you can go to delicious brunch places? Or do you go to delicious brunch places so you can wear pretty clothes? Hmm...
ReplyDeleteBoth! I wear pretty clothes everywhere I go!
DeletePretty skirt, love the dress and your third outfit is just so perfectly you!
ReplyDeleteHmm, I'm not wearing a skirt in either of these, but thank you!
DeleteWhile I like your Friday outfit I LOVE your Saturday brunch outfit! The colors are a perfect antidote to what many of us in the US had to deal with Monday and today (as such am glad I didn’t get around to reading this post till Tuesday afternoon when the antidote was most needed!) the pattern of the perfect plaid pants, the material of the boots, the perfect outer wear, the vibes of the pocketbook…if I left anything out just add it to my commentary as the entire ensemble is just right!
ReplyDeleteVizzini looks so content, he’s got the right ide,
Cheers, Laurie
Yes, the Saturday outfit is the overwhelming favourite, Laurie, and mine too!
DeleteOh, I know...been watching headlines...sigh.
Glad to be a distraction!
Great outfits! Good to see that you found another way to wear that lovely dress. The denim tunic looks versatile. It looks as if it can be worn with pants or skirts, winter or summer.
ReplyDeleteNice to see you and V doing a tour. I used to do that with my cat. A good way to bond with them. EL
Thanks so much (EL - is that you, Elaine??). Yes, I've layered the tunic a bunch of ways - it's a fun piece to play with.
DeleteI love doing "cat tours" and old Vizz loves being carried around these days.
