In addition to my furry fam's health improving, I'm trying to boost my own mental health with a jolt.
Butterflies, zebra print and dots! You couldn't miss me!
- Blazer - Escada, vintage 80s, thrifted, Powell River; purchased here for $15.00
- Top - Beechers Brook, vintage 90s, thrifted; first worn here in June with pajamas in public
- Skirt - Compania Fantastica, consignment, Vancouver; last seen here (2nd outfit) in August for a Sidney thrift shop with Cat
- Shoes - Sol Sana; last worn here in August with eyelet and optic
All this pattern and colour makes me happy.
I immediately thought of this creamsicle orange polka dot pleated skirt to pair with this new-to-me vintage blazer. The skirt will be packed away for summer, but I might keep the blazer out.
I'll have to see how it works with my fall/winter wardrobe.

Masked up.
Good sized pockets in the blazer - I carried my keys and mp3 player in them while walking to/from work.

Hi Sheila! I've been super preoccupied and ended up "saving" your posts to read at once-I am so sorry to hear about Vizzini but glad he's adjusting/improving and doing well otherwise. I feel you on boosting mental health; planning my outfits gives me a sense of control and a creative outlet (although when my anxiety flares sometimes I don't care much about anything else). Love the outfit, you are definitely fearless with color. I like orange but it strikes me as one of those colors that can be especially tough to coordinate.I was intrigued to see you found a pair of United Nude boots in an earlier post. I just discovered them and bought these https://unitednude.com/products/wa-run-lo-azure?variant=43311760867566
ReplyDelete(I hope the link works!) These sandals are wacky but they are so 80s I absolutely love them! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers,
Patricia
Some good points there, Patricia, about control/creativity, thank you. Gasp, those are fantastic shoes!!
DeleteWhat a fun look! The skirt is pretty and I love the blazer. Glad to know Vizzini is doing better.

Oh yes, color and fun patterns, makes me happy and boosts my mood too. Thank you! :) (Did you know you were dressing to help my spirits, as well. ;)) Have to add that I also like the outfit with the blazer open because then there’s even more color popping for pleasure.
ReplyDeleteDelighted to hear about Vizzini’s improvement! Here’s to his continued recovery and plenty of sunbeams for him to follow.
Cheers, Laurie
What's the butterfly print name
ReplyDelete? Something like mariposa? Color and butterfly's- instant cheer.
Butterfly print has a name?? This is new to me! Mariposa was the name of a Canadian mall chain store when I was a teen in the 80s!
DeleteI'm glad kitty is doing better. Hope the same for you.
ReplyDeleteI am so pleased to read that Vizzini's eyesight is getting better. Your little guy has been in my thoughts a lot lately, so it's heartwarming to know there are some improvements!
ReplyDeleteThe pattern and colour mixing in your outfit is making me happy too, I definitely needed that after my first day back at work. That blazer is fantastic and very very you! xxx
Such a cute cheery outfit, and I am so happy about the kitty!
ReplyDeleteLove your cheery outfit! The blazer is amazing! So happy to hear that Vizzini is doing better. Sending healing vibes to him.
ReplyDeleteOh, that blazer!!!!! Just gorgeous -- I hope you keep itout for fall so we can see you style it in other ways. I am so glad Vizzini is still improving. XO
ReplyDeleteLove the zebra and butterfly print combination! Beautiful skirt as well.
ReplyDeleteOeps your buddd flys away because the butterfly hahha looks you good
ReplyDeleteSuch good news for Vizzini, yey! I hope things continue to improve for him on the medication and we can worry about him a little less, I'm often thinking of him! And I am loving this blazer on you - I wouldn't have thought of mixing it with the polka dots but I can see why you did, it just really works on you!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading the other comments on your posts, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who hasn't commented for a while! I have to set aside an hour to go back and catch up from where I left off last. Am very happy for the three of you that Vizzini's eyesight is improving.
