Snaky Orange and Last Olive

Today's outfit was built around this new-to-me orange snakeskin top I bought recently.
I thought I'd continue the flow with these olive joggers, but I ended up disliking them by the end of the day.

  • Blouse - Just Cavalli, consignment; purchased here for $27.00
  • Pants - Lady Dutch, thrifted; last worn here in April with a different snakeskin top
  • Shoes - Super Fine Cardinal, Fluevog; last seen here in June with flounces and orange

They were always an experiment for me, anyway.
I paid $6.95 for them and this is their 12th and last wearing - I'd say I got my money's worth!

I'll have to try the top with something else - maybe my white jeans?
It felt wasted with this look.

I like it from the waist up?
Yeah, those pants are doing nothing for me. GONE!

Masked up.
I barely saw anyone though.

Incognito.
I didn't really need the scarf, but it felt more like an outdoors look with it.

I found a signature on my top.
I like that - it means it's a custom print.

Accoutrements:
This scarf was the best match.

  • Scarf - Forele, thrifted
  • Mask - Lazy Susan's

The stuff:
I wasn't happy with these shoes with the outfit, but they did carry the gold theme well!

Snaky bling:
And one shark!

  • Snake necklace - vintage expo
  • Snake cuff - Whiting & Davis, vintage 70s, vintage fair
  • Shark cuff - Tom Binns, 2012, consignment; purchased here for $179.99
  • Pivot ring - consignment
  • Amber ring - c. 1996
  • Gold hoops - 5th anniversary gift from L

Did you see the necklace tucked under the collar of the shirt?

  1. Oh, I do like this top very much! I love the way you have jewelry to match the theme! I'm sorry the joggers didn't make the cut. I have never had any luck with them. I just always feel like I'm wearing dressed up sweatpants! They look so cute on other people. I don't know...maybe it's just in my head!

    1. Joggers have always seemed like sweatpants to me as well, I think the orange would pop so nicely against white! where as the olive (a colour I love!) made the orange dull?

    2. Thanks, Marsha! I do love a theme! Yeah, I gave them a good shot, and now it's time for them to go. They don't make me feel fabulous, and I don't have room in my closet for things that aren't ringing my bell.

    3. Agreed, w/Mame! Yes, the olive doesn't let the top shine, and it deserves to be seen!

  2. I think you look terrific but if you're not feeling the pants after so many tries, a new home would be fitting.

  3. I'm a sucker for golden shoes... anything golden actually. We have a heatwave het so the only thing I'm wearing are my bikini's.

  4. The orange snake print blouse is a stunner, but you're right, the olive joggers does not do it justice. Joggers be gone, indeed! Loving the snaky bling, I mean, what else would you wear with that blouse :-) Sorry for keeping my comment short and sweet: like Nancy, we are having a heatwave and my brain is refusing service at nearly 40°C. xxx

    1. Oh, gosh, 40 degrees!! I can't even imagine, Ann.

I know, I gave those joggers a lot of leeway, and they've even been in the giveaway pile before! It's time to go - I have better things to wear with this awesome top.

    1. I've always been a little iffy on the trousers. I'm not sad to see them go.

  8. The blouse and shoes would be amazing with a plain black pencil skirt to make them pop!

    1. Oh, that's too easy - plus, do you know me? :) I don't own a plain black pencil skirt - too boring! But I do have other stuff I can try.

  9. I do like olive and orange together but I agree - the top is the real standout here and I can see why it made you disappointed the pants didn't continue the awesomeness! You did get good value from them though!

    1. I did - my cost-per-wear is great on them. I have ideas for the next wearing of the top.
