Urban Camo, a Rose and a Lobster

We woke up to this. You can barely see the Castle, just the warm glow from the tower window.
As you might expect from the dense fog, my stair picture didn't turn out. No stairs for you!

Let's try that again:
There we go! My Urban Camo dress gets another outing. I still have another day of brights before I embark upon the Month of Sparkles, and I have yet to run out of colourful clothes.

  • Dress - Dept, thrifted; last seen here in January with tan stuff
  • Blazer - InWear; last worn here in October with reds
  • Shoes - Big Presence Desmond, Fluevog; last seen here (3rd outfit) in October for my second party outfit
  • Coat (below) - Danier, vintage 90s, thrifted; last worn here in October

I am wearing a full navy blue slip underneath it to add a little bit of length.
And I was in the mood for a blazer today. I felt very profesh.

Without the blazer, although I left it on all day.
I love the versatile colours of this dress - this is my 15th wearing of it, and I've worn different shoes every time.

It's my first time wearing it with this blue belt.
So of course, I had to wear my blue shoes.

Masked up:
And buttoned up - I only did the jacket up when I put my outerwear on.

Outerwear - I got soaked on the way to work.
I like the orange gloves and the bit of the orange blazer peeking out the bottom.

Accoutrements:
I can't resist flashing my classy label!

  • Silk scarf - Pierre Cardin Jeunesse, vintage, Lazy Susan's
  • Gloves - consignment
  • Hat - vintage, thrifted
  • Mask - by mom

The stuff:
I love that electric blue. These are such a great basic shoe!

Bold bling:
A ginormous rose...and a lobster. Sure, why not?

  • Belt - Rohesia, Fluevog; last worn here (2nd outfit) in November
  • Lobster brooch - Mom's
  • Earrings - thrifted
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
  • Brutalist square ring - thrifted; purchased here for $7.95

  1. I love everything about this outfit, colour, vibrancy, and the lobster pin a whimsical touch. I don't know about you, but I'm getting pretty weary of the dark gray rainy days, tired of the wet and blandness of it all. Anyway your outfit was very cheery and lovely.

That's proper spooky mist you've got there.
A month of sparkles, bring it on! xxx

  3. You look amazing, we are already in swelter weather here, so it's linen, cotton, and maybe bamboo fibres for the next few months. Sheila you are such an inspiration, those colours are incredible.

  4. Fabulous colour combination. I didn't receive mails from your blog again, so irritating. Here the weather is grey windy and cold. So very cold. I hate it.

  6. Someone's stolen the castle! Joke aside, that photo is really amazing. Shame about the lack of light for your stair picture. This really is a difficult time for us bloggers!
Your Urban Camo dress is a delight, and I'm loving the cheeky bit of vintage slip peeking out.
Loving the abundance of orange and blue: one of my favourite pick-me-up colour combos. The belt is amazing and how fun is that lobster brooch! xxx

  7. Wow, what a great pairing of blue and orange. You got all the details right. That camo dress with touches of orange in its print matches the orange blazer perfectly. I love the navy blue slip you wore under this dress. It looks like it is a part of the dress. The blue heels are fantastic and they match the blue coat perfectly. The blue belt with a giant rose is so beautiful. Such a feminine and chic look! You didn't let fog get into way of your style. That's the spirit.<3

  9. I admire/love/covet your ability to dress every day with color, pizzazz and … nice outfits! I respond to the cold by wearing flannel lined jeans. Becomes a bit repetitive and blah.

Your outfit is jam packed with delicious color and vibrancy! Yes to those shoes, that blazer, the accessories and the Kickstarter of it all, the dress! I echo Ivana Split’s comment and add on to it…you didn’t let fog (or rain) get in the way of your style or your spirits! Right about now my fantasy is going shopping with you for winter clothing that rocks the season!

I adore the orange and blue together; shoes are fabulous too. You have certainly brightened a November day.

  12. I LOVE the orange and blue together! Those blue shoes and the belt are beauteous with your dress.
I hope that the rivers of rain move on from where they've been situated over BC; the flood pictures that I've seen on the news have been quite alarming.

  13. I tried commenting but Blogger had a glitch and it disappeared, so you may get two comments from me! I love your bold and bright outfits, especially when you combine blue and orange. I have realized that my most worn, and favourite cold weather outfits are mostly black and grey, and I've made peace with that, and try to add a pop of colour when possible.

  14. Fabulous ensemble. The blue belt works excellently here - as do those chic cobalt heels as well.

That lobster brooch is entirely charming. What a delightful piece of marine life themed jewelry, made all the more special by the fact that it was originally your mom's (aww!).
