Ah, Sunday...where did the time go? Let's try to remember.
Here's Friday! I worked a half day on Friday, so I wore comfy things for walking in the afternoon.
- Blouse - Lucky Brand, thrifted; purchased here for $9.99
- Skirt - Nicole Miller, consignment; last seen here (2nd outfit) in November 2016 with copper leather and glitter shoes
- Boots - 1883 Lucchesse, consignment; last worn here (3rd outfit) in May for Ulti
Silver and red bling:
- Belt - Gap, consignment
- Ring - Nine West
- Earrings - gift from Lise
I did an early afternoon grocery shop in anticipation of L's birthday party at our house on Saturday, then met up with L for brunch. We sauntered home on the sunny afternoon, and spent our evening playing board games. Wonderful!
L's actual birthday was on Saturday, but it was business as usual - we had a game of Ulti to play!
- Top - La Vie 89, thrifted; last seen here (4th outfit) for weekend birthday shopping in May
- Cardigan (below) - Jacob, thrifted; last worn here (4th outfit) in August 2016 for a shopping outing
- Skirt - Alex Colman, vintage, consignment; last seen here (2nd outfit) in September 2016 for a post-tattoo theatre date with Mom
- Shoes - Half Truth Veda, Fluevog; last worn here a few days ago in May with poppies
We spent the afternoon tidying up the house, building our party playlist (L) and prepping the food (me).
Turquoise and brass bling:
- Cuff - vintage 70s, Mom's
- Ring - local
- Earrings - Mango's
Party outfit! Our first guests arrived just as I was taking my pictures, so I had to dash!
- Dress - Fire Los Angeles, thrifted; purchased here in April for $6.00
- Boots - LA Malibu, Fluevog; last worn here (2nd outfit) in November 2015 for Urbanite at the Art Gallery
Check out the bigass sleeve on this dress.
Uh-oh, there's the front door buzzer. L, you get the door while I finish my pics!
Check out my stocking-printed tights:
I underestimated how many times I've worn them - I think I'm up to 8 outfits, which brings my cost-per-wear down to a practically cheap $50 per wear. I'm happy with that, but of course, these are going NOWHERE. I love them.
Check 'em out, and yes, you may gasp.
- Cuff - Fossil, gift from L
- Earrings - Fossil, thrifted
- Hairpin - Le Chateau (the other one broke when I was putting it in, aw)
- Ring - Soul Flower
And now, off to do some couch-time with L as we relax. Hope you enjoyed your weekend!
You go Sheila! You look absolutely gorgeous 💃 for L's birthday party! 🎉 Bet he knows what a lucky guy he is! 😉ReplyDelete
Thanks, SP! I felt pretty darned good.Delete
Oh, my heavens! The most glamorous party outfit. I hope you all had a marvelous time, especially L.ReplyDelete
It was delightful! Thank you!Delete
A belated happy birthday to L! I love your party outfit, those boots are incredible! You have so many pieces you get down to an incredibly low cost per wear so fully justified to keep these boots even if they are only worn sparingly. That just makes them more special! :)ReplyDelete
Thanks, Mica! I love these boots - they're my kind of classic.Delete
Fantastic party outfit Sheila, and I love your longer hair. Your legs just go go on and on with the Fluevog boots+dress! Sounds like a fun party :-)ReplyDelete
I have a similar long skirt with side slits that I just bought - am completely stealing that silhouette idea of a shorter, sheer top layered with a vest.
Love, secret squirrel (it's been a while since I commented!) x
Thank you, Rachel, and so good to see you! Wonderful to see a long-time blogger friend again! :)Delete
I love the cropped top with a skinny tube-shaped skirt - the slits are made for walking!
I think you suit pencil skirts so well! I love you in this denim pencil skirt with the 'big' blouse.ReplyDelete
You had a very busy weekend and I loved your maxi skirt; the party outfit is wonderful. You look so glamorous and sexy - fab tights as stockings!
Happy belated birthday greetings L!
I hope Vizzini behaved himself at the party - no shoelace nibbling....
Thank you, Veronica! I like the contrast of the full + skinny silhouette. Vizzini was very good and hid under the bedcovers like the chicken-cat he is.Delete
I love that you wore a leg featuring dress for your man. Very cool. That dress spells p-a-r-t-y!ReplyDelete
Most of the time I dress for me and me only, but this once I dressed for him! Thank you, Mel-Bee!Delete
Just SMOKIN' in the party dress - wow!! And the red belt on the hi waist denim skirt is so perfect. Thanks for a great share, I appreciate the art in my inbox!ReplyDelete
Aw, you're so sweet, thank you, JM! I hope to keep on sending you art!Delete
Sheila, that vintage Colman skirt was such a great find - and OMG you look so sexy in that party attire my friend.ReplyDelete
Thank you - I've had it for a few years now. Thanks so much! I felt very sexy!Delete
Where to start- where to start!ReplyDelete
The slit maxi skirt is amazing. Is is satin or velvet or just plain yummy.
Those black lattice boots..so gorgeous, L is so so, lucky,
speaking of which
love the lucky brand blouse, and those stocking printed tights, very chic and sassy,
you are trailblazing here Sheila! Wow!
It's actually just printed cotton - the waistband is velvet only. Thanks so much, Elle! I don't know if I'm trailblazing or just lost in the woods, hee hee.Delete
Your party outfit is totally glam! I love the transformation from day to evening including the redo of hair. The boots look so high that it's difficult to imagine them being comfy - what a great pair of boots they are indeed!ReplyDelete
Thank you! The boots are indeed that awesome.Delete
