Sparkle Week! Rock & Roll Sparkle

Welcome to Sparkle Week! My company's doing Jeans Week, but I don't do jeans. But I do sparkle!
I'm calling today's outfit "Rock & Roll" sparkle, because I have lots of bling on, but it's all very clean lines and not fussy/delicate. High on the badass scale, too.

  • Dress - Big Fish, thrifted; purchased here on the weekend for $16.95
  • Shoes - Diesel, consignment; last seen here in September with lavender and dots
  • Coat (below) - Samuel Dong, thrifted

Despite this being a wrap dress, it didn't gape at all all day (it has a large section of overlap). I wore a black cami under this, along with a short black half-slip for the bottom. And although I'm wearing tights (hello, dots!), this is still a pretty short dress, so some sort of under-coverage was needed.

The belt got most of the attention.
As did the tights. They are pretty fun.

I went with the coat that matched the shape of the dress. Bad move.
I know, cute, right? But this was way too thin! It snowed on the way to work today and I just froze all the way. Back to the thick wooly, furry coats until we get some warm-ish weather again! I did like wearing my thrifted Liz Claiborne hat (it kept my hair completely dry), my fur boa and my grey wool gloves, but again, not warm enough!

The stuff:
Funky shoes, eh? So none of these pieces are what you might think of as sparkly, but they are shiny and metallic, and that totally counts in my book. Colour me sparkle!

Badass bling:
Squares and circles - that's how I ended up with dotty tights.

  • Belt - BCBG Max Azria, conisgnment
  • Cuff - vintage 80s
  • Spinner ring - Twang & Pearl
  • Earrings - Aldo Accessories

  4. That's a beautiful dress and I do really like that coat, even if it wasn't warm enough for your weather. Hopefully it isn't to cold for long!

    1. I didn't actually realize it was this short - I tried it on over the Muppet skirt, so I had no idea! Phew, glad it worked. It will probably be more of a warm-weather dress.

  6. Blooming lovely Sheila! The dress looks perfect with those spotty tights and I love that chunky belt. Shiny shoes are just the same as sparkle, I agree. Hurrah for a week of bling and sparkle - can't wait to see the next installment.
    Have a fab week x
