Funky Friday: Kenzo Tiger and More Snow

Woo! Happy Friday! Bring on the weekend!
Based on the extra few inches of snow that appeared overnight, it's time to break out the big guns: this is the warmest dress I own. I can't actually wear it any season except winter because I will sweat to death.

  • Dress - Kenzo, thrifted; first worn here in March with these same boots
  • Boots - BCBG Max Azria; last seen here in November with pleather and plaid
  • Coat (below) - Hilary Radley, thrifted

There aren't too many ways to wear this dress. Last time, I layered a shirt under it, but the dress is quite thick and snug, without any stretch, and even a thin shirt is very tricky. Heh, maybe I need a dickie. Does anyone remember those?

This time I opted for a necklace to fill in the neckline.
And yellow sparkly tights. Spaaaarkly! They popped hole in the leg during the day, so not sure how much longer they will be with me.

Outerwear for chilly mornings.
Brrrr! I can almost see my breath. Bundled up with thrifted long vintage wool gloves, and my Danier fur toque and scarf. This is the warmest stuff I own - it better not get any colder.

This is the scene that greeted me when I went outside for my stair picture this morning.
The Castle, all aglow and covered in snow. So pretty!

The stuff:
Boots. Yup, those are boots.

Simple bling:
A ton of giant stones is simple, right?

  • Necklace - Banana Republic, consignment
  • Zircon earrings - vintage fair

A big thank you to Ally of Shybiker and Megan of Megan Mae Daily!
I got the Christmas cards, thank you so much! I feel privileged to have met both of these wonderful bloggers in person. Um, I don't do cards, but the sentiment is there from me.

And lastly, I'll leave you with a shot of an alleyway downtown, all lit up.
And snow all in nicely melting piles.

Have a wonderful weekend, my friends!

  1. Guessing the card with the bike is from Ally! Perfect!

And don't you look all snuggly and warm! The toughest thing is dressing to be warm enough for the commute, but not too hot for indoors.

    1. Bingo! I know, the layering is such a pain, and you could end up freezing!

  2. Love the Kenzo dress! I especially like that you added the (simple ;) ) necklace to it, it almost looks like a beaded collar. Fabulous. Love your coat and yellow tights, and, the beautiful shot of the castle in the snow is inspiring!

  4. Love to see all those fairy lights, so pretty. The dress looks uber cute and cosy which is clearly an essential for you currently. And that coat is so huggable - do you get any extra hugs on the days you wear it? I'd hug you in that x

  6. I found a pink and burgundy wool Kenzo sweater at Talize a couple of weeks ago, and it is a snug fit too (and has the same leopard/panther face on the front)! I like the shape of your Kenzo Dress.

    1. Oh nice, did you buy it? That tiger face is one of their trademarks. I like the shape of this dress too - it's like a skater dress!
