Keep on sparkling! This is the time to wear all those things that feel "too festive"!
It's never a bad time to wear a fabulous dress - just layer a blouse under it! I refer to this as my stained glass dress.- Blouse - no label, vintage 80s, thrifted; last seen here layered under my "eye" dress in September
- Dress - Tangerine Jill, consignment; last seen here in August while I had "Partridge Family" flashbacks
- Shoes - Half Truth Veda, Fluevog; last worn here (2nd outfit) to see Alice Cooper in concert in October
- Coat (below) - Borgeoiis, vintage 80s, thrifted
Truly a great dress. I'm so happy I bought it all those years ago. I never get tired of it.
And it's not like I'm going to run out of colours to wear under it either! Baby blue goes great, don't you think?
Outerwear:
There was a major wind and rainstorm early this morning but it cleared up and was mostly just windy today. I kept warm with my Danier fur toque/scarf and my long wool vintage gloves.
The stuff:
I liked how this belt went over the dress. I bought it for myself this time last year, when I was shopping for L's Christmas presents.
Silver bling:
I wore the pin at the top of the blouse (it's slightly tucked under the neckline of the dress in the above pics).
- Belt - Mimi di N, thrifted
- Earrings - consignment
- Brooch - c. 2001 at the Bay
- Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes
This is my favorite dress of yours. It's extraordinary.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ally! It's one of my favourites as well.
DeleteThis is crazy fabulous ! I adore and admire this look! The dress is great, I do see the stain glass. Love the color of the stockings and blouse. The belt adds another enhancing layer! Glad you always show the "bits" of your outfit , the brooch is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteI love festive clothes, and I really admire your electric style , and that most of it is thrifted!
Have a great week!

Thanks, Elle! I love the details, so my "stuff" picture is a long-time tradition. I love that I can thrift and find such cool things second-hand.
Deletewow that dress is amazing and I want it! Looks amazing on you, love the colors!
ReplyDeleteThank you! The company is no longer in business, unfortunately. I've seen a few of their pieces in second-hand stores, but that's it.
DeleteI have loved seeing your festive mood looks ! And of course you know I love this dress, I think of it as the Mondrian.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lorena! It's definitely got a Mondrian look to it.
DeleteWhat a brilliant dress - I love the colours but also the shape - very flattering. That's the good thing about sleeveless dresses - being able to wear things under as well as over them.
ReplyDeleteI've just thought that you could have called your festive wear an 'advent calendar of festive wear' as each post is like opening the window on the advent calendar and getting a treat...and I'm sure you have enough for 24 days!
Thanks so much, Veronica - it is pretty much the perfect dress!
DeleteI love that idea! I will have to do it next year. :) I definitely have enough for 24 days!
Love the dress! xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks, me too!
DeleteOoo, that IS a great dress! Very flattering shape, and I love the colourful squares.
ReplyDeleteIt's a favourite for sure.
DeleteFestive fun with this myriad of colours Sheila! You could wear this once a week and still find a new colourway to play with months down the line - what a brilliant dress.
