Mom Jeans, Goodbye Sandals, and a Wee Shop

Friday! My old friend, so nice to see you again!
Don't run away! I'm just getting my funk on for Casual Friday.

  • Jacket - Club Monaco, thrifted; first worn here with white and lavender in January
  • Top - Club Monaco, thrifted; last seen here in March with many spots
  • Jeans - Versace, vintage 80s/early 90s, thrifted; last seen here with my Panthers jersey in January
  • Shoes - Lord & Taylor; first worn briefly here (5th outfit) for my birthday part in October 2015

The pictures don't really do this outfit justice. I really liked how cuffing the jeans showed off the shoes and gave these super-high-waisted Mom jeans a modern look. The jacket, despite its length, worked to help balance the high waist.
Funny how that happens. I would never have tried this combination without a capsule.

The stuff:
Say goodbye to my sandals. They destroyed my feet - after only two hours, I had bandaids on toes and ankles, which barely made them tolerable. The heel height didn't bother me at all, but everything else did! Into the giveaway pile you go, bad shoes!

Silver bling:
I do like a double Wonder Woman cuff.

  • Cage cuff - Bauxo
  • Cuff - thrifted
  • Earrings - purchased at the last vintage fair for $4.00
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes

And I got tons of compliments on my earrings all day.

After work, I popped into the WIN Warehouse store, where I happily found a replacement pair of sandals.
Probably 90s, definitely 60s-inspired, these are by VANELi, an Italian company.

I love the blocky heel, very trendy right now.
And they are leather, with a leather sole.
For only $16.95! Nice! I hope these work better than the last ones.

I also found this light cotton dress:
I really liked the print, and the loose cut (it looks good with a belt).

Here's a closeup of the print.
Pretty flowers.

It's by Liberty Art Fabrics, it's fully lined, and has pockets!
For only $8.00? Take my money! A bit of poking around reveals that Liberty Art Fabrics aren't cheap - I think I got a score!

Vizzini, what do you think?
"I think you should get off the computer and rub my tum, woman."
I tend to agree.

Have a wonderful weekend, my friends!

  2. Looking fab again today Sheila! Those shoes were saucy, but heck if they damage your feet, what's the point? I really like the newly found replacements though. And that Liberty print dress - OMG! Libertys of London is a huge, iconic store in London, - there was a TV documentary series about it last year. It's classier than Harrods which everyone has heard of. The fabrics are beautiful, yet really expensive. Honey, you've got yourself such a bargain x

    1. I did some digging around about Libertys - I don't think this piece is that high-end (it's made in China), but I do love the fabric.

  3. Shame about the shoes, but great you found replacements!

When I was getting rid of my heels post knee injury it was nice to have a reason to get rid of the pretty yet impractical and painful ones! No time for shoes that hurt my feet now, I'm much more ruthless!
