I had a lot of strong reactions to today's outfit, mostly of the "Ow, my eyes!" variety.
Yeah, I work with a bunch of comedians. This is called colour, people.- Cardigan - Gap, thrifted; last seen here (2nd outfit) in September on an Ulty weekend
- Dress - Fabrizio Gianni, thrifted; purchased here in Vancouver in March for $30.00
- Playboy skirt - no label, handmade, consignment; first worn here in January with all blues
- Shoes - Eject; last seen here (3rd outfit) for Easter Sunday last month
In case you were wondering, I call this the Playboy suit (there's a matching jacket) because the only trademark on it anywhere is on the hook at the top of the zipper on the skirt: it has a Playboy bunny on it. Bizarre.
I liked all the citrusy brights against the black and white houndstooth. I could have done orange or yellow shoes, but I liked the chartreuse ones.
I wore my yellow dress layered under the skirt. Did you notice?
Ooh, so daring! |
The stuff:
This is my second wearing of these shoes, and they were divine! A lot of my colleagues were impressed that I was wearing "such high heels" at the office...but I'm really not.
Please review this stunning info-graphic.
The red arrow shows how much platform there is under the front of my foot. The blue arrow shows how high the heel really is - that illusion heel looks like a 4" honkin' heel, doesn't it? The white arrow helps show how high these shoes are: a whopping 1.5 inches. So sure, I can walk in these all day easy!
Gold and coloured bling:
I forgot I owned this necklace. It's okay. I'll probably pass it along at some point, as I'm not totally in love with it.
- Earrings - thrifted
- Necklace - consignment
I'm off to make spaghetti!
I too am having a strong reaction to this outfit...I LOVE IT!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's bright and playful, but the black and white houndstooth really grounds it! Well done Sheila!
That's what I love about platform shoes. Comfy and high, both. I do adore this outfit, Sheila. So bright, so springy. Clean. That's very weird about the playboy bunny???
ReplyDeleteI'd say you are refreshing to my eyes, like orangeade, lemonade, and limeade! Great mix!
ReplyDeleteI love the citrus colours together, and that necklace is just the perfect pairing with the outfit, even though it's not one of your favourite pieces :)
ReplyDeletegreat outfit and you look great.

When I still had a job before I retired, I used to get annoyed when people who always wore black would comment on my wearing colorful outfits as though I was the one who wasn't fashionable. I would just smile! OF course you look superb.
ReplyDeleteI love getting your emails and seeing the great outfits you put together .I loved your shoe explanation,if I could find some in my size then it would mean I could wear heels again.(I am a UK9 /European 43). Strange about the Bunny huh?
ReplyDeleteThis is a totally fab ensemble. I adore all the pops of citrus, especially those (not-really-very-high) heels. And how skinny you must be if you can wear a dress under your outfit!
