I could get used to a day off in the middle of the week. First, we sleep in...then we get ready very leisurely. Then we put on a dress and go for brunch!
The hot weather continues! One nice thing about the heat on the coast, is that you always have an ocean breeze cooling it down at night. Patti, bring a cardigan, you'll be chilled in Vancouver.- Dress - Artistic Taste, flea market; last seen here (2nd outfit) with golds in May
- Shoes - La Canadienne, consignment; last worn here (4th outfit) the day after I dyed my hair purple
Holding the skirt of the dress out so you can how much "billow space" I have in it. Swoosh!
Unlike 99% of the people downtown yesterday, I did not wear red and white for Canada Day.
The stuff:
I prefer my pinks and purples.
Pink-purple bling:
First wear of the cuff!
- Obi - thrifted
- Cuff - Catalyst Reaction Leather - thrifted
- Earrings - thrifted
After brunch, L painted miniatures and snoozed, and I worked on my latest Zentangle fan on the deck. Vizzini kept me company.
"Are you going to bother me again, woman?" |
"Sigh. It's a rough life." |
"Mmm, a little to the left." |
"This chair will cool me down." |
Today felt like a Monday, but tomorrow's Friday! Love it!
I wore these pants for my WW group tonight, but they were very well-received at work too.
- Top - no label, thrifted; last worn here in April with gingham and orange
- Pants - Zara, consignment; purchased here on the real weekend for $26.00
- Shoes - Franco Sarto, thrifted; last seen here in April with blue polka dots and pink
I wore my jean jacket over this for walking to and from work - it blocks the sun really well, but phew, I was sweaty!
Such a great pattern on these pants! L wants to steal them off me for himself.
The stuff:
Nice happy flats for me!
Silver bling:
Shiny! First wearing of my new-to-me earrings and bracelet.
- Cuff - Fossil, gift from L
- Bracelet - Ellandemm, thrifted
- Earrings - Fossil, thrifted
- Lapis lazuli ring and Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes
And now, I'm going to try to cool off with the fan pointed at me.
Love those Zara trousers! You look splendid wearing them - printed pants are on my maybe list, and you're bumping me over to Yes. And thanks for the weather advice; I do need guidance as it doesn't drop below 79 degrees here even at dawn. xox
ReplyDeleteA swooshy dress and pattern pants for a low, low price! Yeeeah!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about the breeze; it's a big help. Did you see the moon last night? Gaaa! Wonderful. Huuuge, orange.
This whole family of plumy, raspberry juice-esque purples is breathtaking on you, lovely Shelia. Wow! You're honestly making me want to dig out the few that I have in my closet and wear some this weekend - and you, I think I will do just that. Thank you as always for the fabulous wardrobe inspiration.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs & tons of happy weekend wishes,
♥ Jessica
Hotdamn those pants. LOVE
ReplyDeleteThat is one of my fave maxi dresses of yours and even though I know you are not a "trouser" woman, the Zara printed pants are STUPENDOUS !!!! I love them :)
