In honour of V-Day (Valentine's Day), this week's theme is "I Love Myself Today". If you're not familiar with the Bif Naked song "I Love Myself Today", you need a shot of this stat! Crank it up and sing along!
Today's outfit is an ode to one of my favourite looks, schoolgirl.
So maybe I'm a little old to be doing schoolgirl, but let's pretend, okay? I'm not showing skin a la Britney or wearing the obvious white shirt, and I'm not trying to look younger than I am. I'm just playing with the look because I think it's sexy.
I've got my pinstriped grey dress (complete with little pleats at the bottom) and my burgundy shoes. Kept the top simple with the burgundy ribbed turtleneck.
The stuff:
That bracelet has been broken for about 6 years - I mended it last week. The elastic that strings all those huge rocks together blew about a month after I got it. You'd think I could replace elastic faster, but no.
Love yourself this week! Wear what makes you feel like a million bucks - you deserve it!
Dress (Mac & Jac), sweater (Plum), hose (Hue), shoes (Bleka), bracelet (Fairweather), earrings (Plum).

So love this outfit on you! The shoes really rock too!
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit!! A couple years ago Burberry's fall collection featured outfits similar to yours: dark colored dresses with black leggings and red shoes. Ever since seeing that line -- I LOVE that style. It's like preppy-chic and it reminds me of London and the rain :)
ReplyDeleteVery sleek look on you. I just wish I could see the colors better.
ReplyDeleteWe had theme weeks galore!
I'm not sure if Canadian girls wear school uniforms. We certainly do here. I think that this is definitely a great look, Sheila & the message of the entry is one that is particularly timely for me today. And I'll go on iTunes to check out the song.
ReplyDeletecheers
Sue
Sassy!
ReplyDeleteAlison, I'm pretty sure mine are knock-offs too! They were cheap...but yes, so cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Hillary!
Jennie, thanks so much! I love that I'm channeling a line I haven't even seen.
Cat, yeah, I'm sorry - grey and burgundy (and purple) just don't photograph well in this light.
Love the theme weeks!
Sue: some schools have them, but mostly private schools. The link I posted takes you to the video of her song. I hope you like it.
Thanks, Sal!
Love it! And i love your theme weeks :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lady D!
