Disco Bubble Cocoon

I owe part of today's post title to colleague Chris.
"You're just a 60s disco bubble!" he gushed.

  • Top - Zara, consignment, Vancouver; first worn here in April 2023 with a top layered underneath
  • Leggings - Zara, consignment; first seen here in April to see a movie
  • Boots - Powerhouse Jyoti, Fluevog; last worn here in April with art-inspired pieces
  • Coat (below) - Cache, consignment; last seen here in March

I didn't have the heart to remind him that disco was the 70s.
"You snarked it in your head. Also, let me in the hallway."

I have been poking around in my closet to find the "just worn once" items and getting them into another outfit, like this cocoon top I picked up on the 2023 version of our Anniversary Trip to Vancouver.

It doesn't seem like over a year since I last wore it! I changed up how I styled it quite a lot (a refresher here if you missed the link above) - I have just a camisole on here, plus I left the cocoon untucked to show its full glory.
"Did you know it was stuck to your bum? HALLWAY."

I paired it with these shiny snakeskin-textured leggings, after considering tights for about two seconds. This is not a dress!

The colours in the top are black, dark purple, caramel and red (I know, it looks orange indoors - the Stair Pic is accurate).
The arm-holes are odd, with one in the front and one in the back, which causes much twisting and billowing. I worried about catching it on a door in the office, but it didn't happen.

The weather is swinging wildly these days. It was cold and windy in the morning.
Incognito in leopard, heh heh. I totally blend in.

I didn't show the red lining the last time I wore this light coat. There you go.
"No one cares."

Vizzini, you are so grumpy in your old age! He did "escape" into the hallway, by the way - I indulge him and let him think he's still spry and quick (which he is).

The stuff:
I went for a walk mid-day to return some catering platters. I enjoyed striding about downtown in my billowy cocoon and these glorious red boots.

Copper bling:
I did wear copper with my cocoon again - it goes so well!

  • Copper necklace - vintage 60s, consignment
  • Copper ball bracelet (sold with a matching necklace) - vintage 60s, vintage expo
  • Copper/enamel bracelet - Matisse by Renoir, vintage 60s, vintage expo
  • Shiny copper ring - Glee, local
  • Copper ball ring - vintage, consignment
  • Earrings - vintage expo
