This ginormous cocoon is the first item from our giant anniversary shop in Vancouver to make it into an outfit. I love the mod vibe of it and immediately knew I'd wear some of my copper jewelry with it.
- Cocoon top - Zara, consignment; purchased here for $32.99
- Turtleneck - Jacob, thrifted; last worn here in February with a hated dress
- Skirt - Max Mara, consignment; last seen here in January with some shoes that will be rotating in again soon
- Boots - Prepare Map, Fluevog; last worn here in February with more oranges
- Eclipse coat (below) - Welsh, consignment; last seen here in February
Love that pattern - such a mod vibe. I did a generous half-tuck into the skirt's waistband.
I guess you could wear this as a dress, but it's quite short.
The front-back arm-holes mean that one arm is always swathed in fabric.

I really do have another arm, see?
I enjoyed wearing this top - it's very floaty and billowy, like a parachute. I had some complicated wrangling when in the loo, but nothing I can't handle.

- Scarf - fake Louis (Lewis!) Vuitton, thrifted
- Gloves - Thinsulate, thrifted
The stuff:
I pack these boots away for spring/summer, so I'm happy to get another wearing of them under the wire.

Copper bling:
I have such a big copper collection, I bring out different pieces depending on the season. Some of these will be packed away.

I was amused to see Vizzini lolling about while I took my outfit pics this morning. Of course, he sits in my exact posing spot.
"Stay home with meeeeee..."
Sorry, buddy! Gotta go to work!
I always feel a bit sad to put away my boots for summer. That's the only downside of summer. Not wearing boots. Well, one pair I can wear, peeptoe boots. Love your boots. Have s beautiful, hopefully, sunny day.
ReplyDeleteOh yey I'm so glad this is the piece you wore first, I was so curious as to how it would look. It works so well on you and looks extremely comfortable! the copper is perfect with it :)
ReplyDeleteMy mind went directly to Pirate because of the one armed sleeve and the billowyness (is that a word?) of the top. This is a fabulous outfit filled with color (yay red!) and pattern, and I like how the circle of the copper necklace goes with the circles of the blouse-dress-tunic top. LOL as if you didn’t plan that. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe went from sunshine and 70s yesterday morning to overcast evening to overcast and 50s today. I shall not be deterred! Am going to head out into the yard and rake and clean out leaves from garden beds. Very therapeutic. :)
Here’s to a fabulous Wednesday!
Cheers, Laurie
Lovely outfit; Interesting colors and shapes. A gladiator might consider "soft clothes as armour" to be an oxymoron but, of course, we know what you mean.
ReplyDeleteGoing back to work after a break is always such a drag, isn't is, and I know it's not much fun catching up on emails.
ReplyDeleteI love that you've already given the cocoon top its first outing, I couldn't wait to see it on you. What an extraordinary garment, and that pattern is to die for. I'm loving all the copper with it too! xxx
Ooh, I need to find this anniversary shop post! I love the coccoon top- tis beautiful and I'm loving the boots!
ReplyDeleteI'm always so sad to put my boots away- I love wearing them ! Kezzie x
