Winning Combinations

I love when I find a winning combination of pieces - when I get a new item of clothing, I can take one of my old combos, and voila - new outfit.
I've worn everything but the skirt in a combination before - in fact, here's a variation of this outfit exactly 2 years ago.

  • Leather jacket - Danier Couture, consignment; last seen here (3rd outfit) in December 2017 to see "Chicago" with Mom
  • Baby blue blouse - vintage 80s, thrifted; last worn here in October 2017 layered under the eyeball dress
  • Skirt - Pink Martini, consignment; purchased here for $11.50
  • Shoes - Effortless Vivian, Fluevog; last seen here (2nd outfit) in August 2017 to hang out with my cousin
  • Coat (below) - Zara, gift from Dominique; last worn here in March

The day I bought these shoes (here), I wore the jacket and blouse together!
I even wore the jacket and blouse with a different gold skirt, here. Winning combinations galore!

But today was the first wearing of this skirt - I liked it, but I think it might be a fall/winter piece more than a summery piece.
I like how the texture of the skirt has a single panel down the front and back. More than your ordinary skirt! It's also a very cool fabric - the sheer parts are a wide mesh.

Outerwear - snuggly in the morning; boiling hot in the afternoon. It's supposed to get warmer over the next week!
I'm getting down to the last wears of my gloves for the season.

  • Leather gloves - Danier

The stuff:
These shoes are one of my favourite pairs. I love the bright, clean colour (it's pearlized too), the blocky heel, the navy buckle. They are super comfy too - that's why I have another pair of shoes and a pair of boots with this same heel/toe.

Sparkly bling:
Something about spring makes me want to be extra-sparkly!

  • Necklace - Banana Republic, consignment
  • Earrings - consignment
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

  3. That's such a lovely skirt, and if you do decide to make it fall/winter wear it will work perfectly with tights too! I like falling back on old combinations of things and combining them together to make a new outfit - easy outfit construction!

    1. Yes, I feel like the weight and colour of it are more fall - I'll probably take it out of the closet if/when I need more room, ha ha!

    1. Agreed, but I do think it's a little heavy for hot weather, Lorena.

  7. I really love the sky blue color that you found both in the ruffled blouse and those beautiful new shoes.
What an artful combination, and sort of an unexpected one, with the rich neutrals. The gorgeous coat is the perfect topper. LOL to my unintended pun .

  9. This is a winning combination Sheila and one that I have similar versions of too. The skirt is so pretty, but my favourite piece of the day has to be those wonderful shoes - oh how I adore them, sigh!
