I put up the office Christmas trees (we have 3, one large and 2 small) and decorations today, so I had to dress to do bending, lifting and snagging at my clothes.
- Crushed velvet top - no label, thrifted; purchased here for $17.99
- Jeans - Levi Strauss, thrifted; last seen here in October with velvet and loafers
- Shoes - Down to Earth Hadfield, Fluevog; last worn here in September with the evil orange dress
- Coat (below) - Danier Leather; last worn here in November with autumn reds
Pretty dark out now when I do my stair pictures. It's light by the time I leave the house 20 minutes later, but at 7:40am, this is what I'm looking at when that timer goes off.
But to the outfit - this is the first wearing of this new-to-me silk crushed velvet top - I wore a pale blue cami under it. I like how it wraps across at the bottom of the stretchy hemline.
Outerwear - it rained solid all day. Rain rain rain.
- Necklace - vintage 50s, gift from L
- Rhinestone earring - vintage 60s, vintage fair
- Stud - don't remember
- Red stone ring - family, 1930s?
- Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes
I have no idea whose ring that is, but it's old and very worn - I'm seeing Mom tomorrow night, so I'll ask her if she knows.
Have a wonderful weekend, my friends. See you on Sunday!
It's so difficult getting up and ready for work when it's dark I find! Luckily our sunrise isn't so late as yours is, so photos aren't too tricky. Some mornings it's tough in winter though!ReplyDelete
I love that velvet top on you - I'm a big fan of wrap tops although I don't yet have anything velvet!
Isn't it? I hate this 6-8 week dark period in the year.Delete
These dark mornings are a trial! At least you've got a gorgeous view to cheer you up.ReplyDelete
You look great in jeans, they're a perfect fit. The velvet and leather and those incredible shoes stop them looking at all ordinary or mainstream.
That topaz ring is a beauty! xxx
It's a treat to look at the castle every day. Aw, thanks, Vix.Delete
I'm not a big fan of dark mornings, but I am intrigued by the spooky castle. I too get "you are wearing jeans" (or trousers) remarks on the rare occasions when I wear them. I love the velvet wrap blouse, what a gorgeous colour. And those shoes are surely fit to cheer up the rainiest of days. Seems we have been sharing weather again, too. xxxReplyDelete
It's a famous castle and big tourist attractioin. Thank you, Ann! Stay dry on your side of the world.Delete
Gorgeous velvet top!!!!ReplyDelete
What a gorgeous velvet top, Sheila! I love the style and the colour. I used to own lots of velvet tops, jackets and skirts back in the late 90s. I gave them away years ago but I wish I had kept them now! XXXReplyDelete
I had so many then too, Sasha! Ah well, more fun to go hunting for them now!Delete
Love Those Shoes!!!!ReplyDelete
Yeah, dark at 4:30pm now and raining like a mother. Gotta dig out my big coats now :)
Thanks, Tilda! Nearly time for the big coats here - it's still nice and warm during the days.Delete
How funny is it that we are both wearing crushed velvet in the very same shade of Crimson red. I really like this look on you and I am pleased that you were putting up Christmas decorations. That sounds like fun. I also really love the floral sense. The siight of them makes me happy. Low the bow back anklets!ReplyDelete
If I most this from my laptop it will take my google account, go figure. It I am coziest when I use my iPad...
All the cool kids wear crushed red velvet, right, Elle? Ha! I can't put up decorations at home, so at least I get to enjoy them at work.Delete
It is soooo hard getting out of bed in the dark, and then it's dark again by the time I get home from work. At least the shortest day of the year is coming up, and we'll be turning towards the sun again!ReplyDelete
It is! I hate this time of year, just because of the light!Delete
OH i'd call this a comfortable and festive look - you look so good in that bright shade those jeans. Jeans !!ReplyDelete
It was a perfect tree-decorating ensemble! Jeans!Delete
