Winter Blues and Spring Florals

Oh, what a day. It was just stoopid. Thank goodness for a swooshy skirt! Some days that makes all the different to one's mood, doesn't it?
This delicious skirt worked its magic on me and by the end of the day, I was back to my usual spazz-tastically cheerful self.

  • Sweater - Badgley Mischka, thrifted; first worn here in October in a sheer dotty outfit
  • Skirt - VanessaVirginia, thrifted; purchased here for $22.95
  • Boots - Sopranos Angelina, Fluevog; last worn here (4th outfit, way down past the Gala pics) in February with more blues
  • Coat (below) - Pioneer Wear, vintage 80s, thrifted; last seen here in November 2016

This sweater photographs poorly - the wide slits on the side make the bottom front hem look very wide. But it's really a lovely, amazing quality sweater to wear. I have come a long way from hating pastels!
I was complimented on how well the soft blue went with this colour-ific skirt. However, I am putting the skirt into the spring/summer stash. I have too many fall/winter skirts to wear still!

Now, let's talk swooshiness - this is a Swoosh Factor 8, for sure. Much billowing and swish swish about when walking, although it has a tendency to make "ABBA pants" on me.
It's not super-wide, but the flounces give it good movement. There's a peek of the blue lining with the orange trim. I didn't wear an extra slip under it (this time) - it's been only slightly cold this week.

I am wearing a cotton tank under the sweater, but maybe a less bulky cami next time.
The skirt was very long, so I rolled the wide elastic waistband a few times to ensure I didn't step on it while walking too and from work. I did roll my chair wheels into the hem 2-3 times, so had to be really careful not to get entangled with the wheel mechanisms. The key is not to panic.

Outerwear. I felt in the mood for fringe this morning.
My headwrap is handy for keeping my ears warm when I have my hair clipped up.

  • Wrap thing - thrifted
  • Fur boa - thrifted
  • Wool gloves - Parkhurst

But really, it's all about this fabulous coat.
The fringe along the sleeves has random pony-beads on it. So awesome.

The stuff:
I liked the bright reddy-coral-orange-pink boots with the skirt pattern, and the blue tights underneath. These are really comfy to wear.

Copper bling:
I think copper jewelry works well as an "orange" in an outfit.

  • Necklace/earrings - vintage 60s, Renoir, vintage fair
  • Lapis lazuli ring/Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

  6. That skirt looks fantastic on you, and the sweater's colour is just perfect with it. I'm in love with the boots! I saw a pair in a similar colour when thrifting, but they were far too big, unfortunately. The fringy jacket is awesome, too. xxx
