Brown? In Summer?

Now that we are in mid-August, the weather around here has finally gotten to summer!
And, as you may know, I rarely dress seasonally-appropriately. Long sleeves, it is! And brown, which is totally not a summer colour. Why not, I say!

  • Blouse - Ralph Lauren, consignment; purchased here on the weekend for $14.50
  • Skirt - J. Crew, thrifted; last seen here in May with multiple patterns
  • Shoes - Tod's, thrifted; last worn here (2nd outfit) for Urbanite at the Art Gallery

I actually prefer long sleeves - less sunscreen is fine by me. This is the first wearing of this blouse and oh, how my heart soars at all those ruffles! I did have to turn the cuffs up once, and I am also wearing a burgundy cami under it due to the super-sheerness of the material. And you can only see my tattoo if you look for it.
I love this skirt - such a pretty colour and so shiny!

The stuff:
Big honkin' shoes!

Green bling:
Nothing matches, but everything goes.

  • Necklace - vintage 60s, Mom's
  • Ring - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Earrings - Stella & Dot, consignment

  1. Why not indeed? These colors look wonderful together. But . . . what are long sleeves??? We'll find out here in November : > xox

    1. We're having a scorcher of a week right now - these sleeves are killin' me, Patti! Hope your move is going well!

  2. That is a beautiful blouse, and so flattering on you!

  3. Love the blouse! Especially with that necklace! Hope that it cools down soon for you.

    1. Thank you! I wasn't sure about the necklace, but why not?

We're in for another hot one this weekend!

  4. Fantastic outfit - mint green and brown are so dreamy together. They're serene, but in no way boring, and just look incredible on you.

    xoxo ♥ Jessica

    1. I was surprised at how well they went together, but I shouldn't be - mint chocolate chip, anyone? Thank you!

  5. Mint green and brown..oh that is such a pretty color combo..just perfect for now and early the blouse!!

  6. Love a bit of swimming against the tide and this works so well in my books. The ruffle blouse is divine as is the skirt, and hey even those sandals are pretty cool. Fab look x

    1. I was really pleased with how this outfit turned out. Thank you!
