Sparkly and Shiny Greens

A loose and louche outfit today. I've been on the fence over this skirt for a couple of years.
I still really like it, though. When am I ever going to find a green shiny lace skirt every again?

  • Blouse - Tabi, consignment; last worn here in May with these same shoes (and more green!)
  • Skirt - Alfred Sung, consignment; last seen here in January with much shininess
  • Shoes - Franco Sarto, consignment; last worn here in July with yesterday's winged blouse

It is a little big on me, so tends to look better with a fitted top that covers the waistband. Meh, I couldn't be bothered today.

I wore this delightfully blousy pajama-inspired top instead because it barely touched my arm (I'm starting to get to the itchy stage with my ink).

The stuff:
How can you not love shoes with bows?

Simple bling:
And there we go.

  • Earrings - don't remember, but close to 20 years old
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

  1. So, as I was looking at the second photo I thought it might look better with a fitted top that covered the waistband! Hahaha x An obi belt would have pulled this together too. But hey, I still love it - especially due to green being one of my favourite colours. A difficult colour to find all the time though, don't you think? Hang on to that skirt, it IS irreplaceable!

    1. Yes, I've done that before (I've had the skirt for a long time) and will probably do that again at some point. The skirt is a wee bit big on me, so anything over the waistband tends to slip off, especially because I have a clip with a huge amount of keys on it worn at the waist for work. Green is just not around that much - you have to get it when/where you can find it!

  3. When I saw that skirt I thought of a wet lizard thing that came out of the swamp - EXCELLENT!!! And it would hang out in a lounge. And then I saw it was lace. Even BETTER. Awesome. But fit issues, hmm. That's a tricky on. Still, the shininess of this whole outfit is compelling, as are all your outfits.

    1. It's a very fancy-schmancy wet lizard, and yes, I would so lounge in it...in a lounge! I can't be bothered to tailor it, and it's only a size or two big, so well, whatevs. SHINY.

  4. It's such a beauty - I'd be really hard pressed to part ways with it, too, and would likely turn to my favourite trick for styling slightly-too-big skirts - a sturdy medium to wide with belt to help conceal the excess.

    1. I have tried this with a belt, but the waist doesn't lend itself well to it - I usually will do a fitted jacket done up over it. I must make more effort to style it up! Thanks, Jessica!
