Grey Daze and Not-Leather

It's been grey, grey, grey for the last few days. I am sick of it, I tell you.
So what did I do? I wore grey. D'oh!

  • Top - Eric Alexandre, thrifted; purchased here for $3.00
  • Skirt - Bianca Nygard; last worn here in September 2014 with yellow while being the Mayor of Matchytown
  • Boots - Marc; last seen here (2nd outfit) with the fabulous pink Muppet skirt

It's lighter in the evenings now, walking home. But I could use some sunshine.

First wearing of this new-to-me top. I liked the fake leather front on it - it's very thin and soft (and all my little spills wiped right off!).
"Cat bomb!"
I actually couldn't find much in my closet that went with the vibe of top, so not sure how long it will last. What would you pair with a top like this? I went with a pencil skirt with some blue in the embroidery, and I guess a black leather (of course) skirt would work. But what else?

The stuff:
I noticed today that the little zipper pull is missing off one of my boots. Hmmm...I wonder what happened to that? Vizzini??

  • Necklace - Nygard, consignment
  • Cuff - Midzo, vintage expo

  1. Great outfit. I love how the top is waterproof. Hahaha.
Other stylings? I would think any brightly coloured pencil skirt, for example lemon, would look great, with some stompy orange Vogs...? Just throwing ideas out there. I know you will come up fantastic ideas.
    Love Vizzini bomber photo. Haha.

  2. Love the combination of the skirt and gold accessories! I think the statement necklace is perfect with that top.

I've had a couple baseball style tees in my wardrobe and I'm very unimaginative - usually pair them with jeans, which isn't so helpful for you :(

  3. I can't believe with your extensive closet that you'd struggle to find separates to go with this top Sheila. You must have endless black trouser/skirt options? Oh, if only I could nudge you out of the way and have a wee snoop around, I'm sure I'd come up with some great suggestions. Anyhoo, the pairing with this rather lovely skirt is perfect. I must dodge back and see what it was worn with last time. Your blog is like an Alice in Wonderland adventure where I keep dropping down rabbit holes and then losing track of where I started. But such fun too!

  4. Same here! In a lot of ways, I feel like I'm over winter entirely (or very nearly so at least). This being Canada though, we've easily got a couple more months to go, so I say we all take your lead and beat the winter blues with fabulous chic outfits like this.

  6. I like the top - shiny boob effect with the camera flash, yay! I think it would look cool with your tuxedo pants, or any brightly coloured skirt, and what about a maxi skirt? I'm sure you can find some other pairings that will work! xxx

  7. Nice look. It's interesting how your hair-color complements your clothing in many outfits. BTW, why's there a picture of you on my blog today?!

  8. I had a dream about this top last night. It was paired with a bright blue coloured Jean (aren't your mom jeans coloured?) and grey thigh high boots. I don't know who was wearing it in the dream but it worked. If it were me, I'd do a skinny dark wash jean and ankle boots, but I'm glad my brain knew to kick it up a few notches if you were going to wear it!

  9. Cara, I don't even OWN dark-washed jeans! But yes, my Versace Mom jeans are bright blue. Hilarious dream!
