Colour Bomber

Brrr! It's cold outside! I walk to work in the dark, and I walk home in the dark. I am sick of all this dark.
This is what my camera interprets as "auto-correct" for lighting. Neon!
How about a colour? How about ALL the colour?

  • Jacket - Vero Moda in Blue, thrifted; purchased here last week for $19.99
  • Blouse - Cleo, thrifted; last worn here in November 2015 with bigass shoulders
  • Skirt - Precis Petite, thrifted; last seen here in August 2015 walking a mile in men's shoes
  • Shoes - Big Presence Desmond, Fluevog; last worn here in November 2015 with more colours

I haven't owned a bomber jacket in...wow, probably close to 35 years. I used to have a puffy cream one with brown cuffs/hem when I was in junior high (grade 8-10 back in the late 70s/early 80s). I thought I was "da bomb" in it, even before that was a phrase.

The pattern on this jacket caught my eye, and I really loved wearing it today. It was soft, light and just the right amount of warmth for someone flashing hot periodically throughout the day (yeah, that would be me - yay, hot flashes). Also, pockets!
I'm not sure that this skirt will last in my closet. I hung it up, then took it off the hanger, folded it, then hung it up again. I can't keep everything!
But it is really nice to wear, a lovely length and has some serious walking appeal (aka makes my butt look good). And it's raspberry pink.

The stuff:
I had to wear orange shoes to match the orange piping along the zipper of the jacket.

Big ol' bling:
My coworker Simar gave me these pink acrylic earrings. I needed these!

  • Earrings - gift from Simar
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

I'm linking you to my earring twin, Ms. Melanie over in Vancouver, who is also having a large earring style inspiration. Bigass earrings for bigass personalities, eh, Mel?

  1. Oh yes, Sheila, you got that right, jumbo-size personalities, hahaha! Thanks for the mention. Those big colourful earrings are such a pick-me-up.

And I am with you on the dark - sick of it! At least in theory the days are getting longer. Why does it not feel like it?

  3. Couldn't agree with you more about wanting the dark to be over, OVER already! Although I always feel once we get past the New Year stage we're over the worse of it and it's a gradual upward journey to the relief of Spring.
On the dark days it's got to be colour all the way for me too. Heavens, how it lifts my spirits and your bomber jacket has totally done that for me today. It is da bomb!
I think you should reprieve the skirt - it's raspberry pink for goodness sake! We all need a little raspberry pink and a bum flattering one at that!

  5. Hi Sheila, I'm sporting all the colours today too! I think it's a vain attempt to conquer the darkness and grey weather here. Good to see you wearing the bomber jacket with the orange shoes picking up the piping - I'd do something like that too. Fab ensemble x
