Whew, I worked an extra two hours today - so much to do, but now I feel a little more on top of things.
Clothing as armour again, and this jacket was my chainmail.- Coat - Desigual by Christian Lacroix, consignment; purchased here for $82.00
- Dress - Land's End, consignment; last seen here (2nd outfit) in November 2014 with studs
- Shoes - Big Presence Desmond, Fluevog; last worn here with a major pouf in December 2014
I was told when I bought my first piece of Desigual in the Desigual store in London that it's pronounced "dez-uh-gwell". I have heard "duh-sig-you-well" too, but I'll take the word of the person who works in their stores.
I love how this jacket buttons itself open to form the wide lapels. I wanted to gush to everyone about it, but I was seriously so slammed today I could barely lift my head. I did manage to show it off to my favourite fashiony people at work, but not in my usual exuberant manner (I did twirl for Fiona).
I loved how all the oranges worked with this (the dress is a very deep orange) - they really popped off the blue.
And isn't it pretty done up?
I didn't actually wear a coat today, just this jacket done up, with gloves and a furry scarf. I know, all you folks with snow hate me, right?
The stuff:
I love these shoes so much. I hope Fluevog makes them in some new colours - I'm kicking myself for not buying them in yellow!
Circular bling:
Much roundness.
- Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
- Earrings - gift from Lise
I'm off to make barbecue chicken pizza for a late dinner, and then crashing on the couch!
I love this entire outfit! Your coat is absolutely incredible.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous coat, Sheila!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous color combo, shoes & you!
ReplyDeleteYes, that's a show-stopping coat, and it looks great with the bright orange! xxx
ReplyDeleteBest chainmail I've ever seen. I always pronounced it as deh-si'-gyu-al. I was corrected by a woman at a store in Gastown that sells the brand but her pronunciation and the spelling are so different I can't even remember now. I like your way best.
ReplyDeleteI don't know which I like better - that gorgeous coat or the yummy shoes. Putting them together is like having five kinds of ice cream at once!
ReplyDeletelove all those orange shades with your fabulous coat-jacket!!, it's really a gorgeous coat, and you rock it!!
ReplyDeleteDesigual is a spanish word, means uneven, unequal, and if you're still interested, you can hear how it sounds here
besos
This coat totally awesome.
ReplyDeleteI remember the first time I walked into a Desigual store. I was a little overwhelmed with all the colour and then I suddenly loved them.
I'm pretty sure you had something to do with that.
ReplyDeleteThat was freaky - I suddenly was on your Feb post and was commenting for that one and saw that I already had! I clicked your link without realizing it.
ReplyDeleteBack to the present - the skirt looks great! And I am into white blouses lately too. Of course, I need new old ones. I look forward to seeing what you wear to the ballet.
