Make Like a Leaf

Today, the leaf skirt!

I didn't feel like going colour-a-rama with this outfit, so I went with browns and a flashy necklace instead.

• Sweater - Club Monaco, thrifted; last seen here in January on a thrifting trip
• Skirt - Darling; purchased here in Rome a couple of weeks ago
• Shoes - Bruno Magli, vintage 80s, thrifted; last seen here (2nd outfit) in January with a lame (lah-MAY!) skirt

I admire all the cropped tops and shapeless vests and unstructured coats and giant trousers that I see in the fashion mags aesthetically, but I just can't do them - they look horrendous on my body. I need fit and flattering shapes. I am not a coat hanger!

Na-na-na-na-CAT BOMB!

First wear of this little flirty skirt. I wasn't especially taken with it when I bought it, but I quite liked its swooshiness (about a Swoosh Factor 8) during the day. I'm also resigned to having to wear tights every day now - too darned windy and cold for bare legs!

The stuff:

Many 80s shoes are horribly uncomfortable. Not so, these vintage Bruno Magli shoes. What would you call these? They aren't kitten heels (not a bitty little stiletto) and they're not flats (too much heel)?
