I felt tired and sluggish today - must be the heat. I needed loose, comfy clothes.
Thanks for all the suggestions for tops for yesterday's skirt - looks like I may have to go shopping (oh no, gee). Heh.No worries today. I love this top, which I last wore to see "Beauty and the Beast" with my female fam back in May (here). I wore it with my emerald culottes then - and I do believe it's time to wear those again!
The little white drapey cami makes another appearance - seriously a great piece in the summer. I last wore it just this past weekend, over my purple maxi dress.
I couldn't face wearing a stiff skirt, so I went with my loose t-shirt material Floating Gold Iceberg coral one, last seen here in March (2nd outfit) with floral tights and a denim skirt. I'm glad to be wearing this in warmer weather - it was divine.
The stuff:
Yeah, I know: Woo! Look at those shoes! Aren't they a marvel? I get limited wear out of them because, let's face it, there are only so many ways one can wear aqua, orange and cream snakeskin print sandals. I wore them three times in the July 2012 capsule (recap here).
I can't wear them too much, not just because of the colour combo being restrictive, but because of the height - those suckers are just over 5", including the 1" platform. My feet are feeling it, and I still have to go work at my WW meeting tonight. I think flats are in order for tomorrow.
Bling things:
Bugs! Cicadas, to be exact. And I rarely go more than a few days without wearing my Wendy Brandes rings. Love 'em.
Cardi (Bellisima, consignment), blouse (Le Chateau, thrifted), skirt (Floating Gold Iceberg, consignment), shoes (Poetic License), earrings (Erica Weiner), lapis lazuli and Fulvia ring (Wendy Brandes).
Oh yeah I hear you, but those shoes are GORGEOUS! In the first picture, the straps down the top of your foot actually looked like pretty stones -- sort of shiny but not too much. Then I find it's snake skin print. And I love the colors. Love your shirt too. It is beautiful!

PS -- thanks for the steampunk suggestion. you know I am thinking along the same line. :)
That's what I miss about daily outfit pics -- going back to see the last time I wore one piece, only to discover it's been a while since I've worn another! Also, those shoes should go with anything, they're that great!
ReplyDeleteAwesome combo~ And good call on the shoes too. I never expected to get half as much wear as I do out of my colorful shoes, but I actually get quite a bit!
ReplyDeleteYou really pulled out some stunning pieces today - the top, the shoes (!) and the cicadas! Oh my god, the skirt, too! And all that color - it's just fab!

ReplyDeleteOh my those shoes are freakin' incredible!!! I love the chinese top with this skirt--the color combo--the juxtaposition of the different style!
ReplyDeleteI love the peekaboo detail on the back of your skirt. That and it's loose and stretchy/comfortable, you say? Keeper!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colour combination, and those shoes are awesome - but I couldn't walk in them, so I'm impressed you did a whole day! xxx
ReplyDeleteOh, I am in love with the cicada earrings! Wherever did you find them?
ReplyDeleteThey are by Erica Weiner: http://ericaweiner.com/collections/earrings/products/cicada-earrings#.Ud5MuvnVCKE
