Grey Monday

I'm still building outfits out of the new clothes I got on my last shopping trip. The new item here is the skirt - a great find at Le Chateau! I love the baroque pattern and the mix of black, brown and grey on the white background. I know this will get a lot of wear.
I am guilty of being one of those women who loves the look of fur - I don't own any real fur (aside from a very old wool coat of my mom's that has a fox fur collar), but I love the look of it, so I do it in faux fur. There is something about a jacket or cardigan with a fur collar that just screams "Buy me!" whenever I see one.

I got a lot of compliments on today's outfit, particularly the shoes.
They are very comfortable and (I think) tres chic. The ombre fade from one shade of grey to another keeps them interesting.

Cardigan (Campana Knitwear, consignment), skirt (Le Chateau), tights (Hue), shoes (Qutie), black stone/silver earrings.

  1. I fell in love with these shoes after seeing them on a previous post of yours. I have kept an eye out for them and saw a similar pair recently, but to my annoyance, they had a very shiny brass buckle which took so much away from the shoe. Hopefully a pair like these will show up someday, but I won't hold my breath! :-(

  2. I love faux fur too.
I always remember in my PETA days wearing a T-shirt that screamed "Fur is worn by beautiful animals and ugly people"
It didn't go down too well with my mother n law to be who owned several real fur coats.

  3. Thanks, guys!

I got the shoes in a boutique in a small town while on vacation last summer. Who'd've thought?

I'm not anti-fur (I'd be a hypocrite, since I wear leather), but I think the animals should be raised and treated humanely. Fur is an industry that is (somewhat) being revived in Canada lately. I still wouldn't buy any, though.

Yeah, the faux fur collar is tricky to wear. I tend to keep the bottoms simple - this is my first try at a more modern look with it.
