Requirements: very little effort, great fabric, quality construction, awesome colour, and pockets (YES).
I've been casting a critical eye on some of my summer dresses - I just haven't been reaching for many of them.
However, this lovely, swooshy dress has made it through another year. This is its 5th wearing in 3 years.
The colours are cerulean, brown, pink and there is a hint of black and white in some of the flowers.
The big brown blotches are chrysanthemums. I love the V in the back and front - it's cut so well, there is no slipping around.
I layered a vintage nylon slip underneath to keep any sweat away - it's 100% silk and made in the US! I don't want to ruin it.

Incognito and outerwear - it was really windy, which made the temps feel much lower than the purported 26 degrees.
The dress billowed and blew in the breeze (and I was happy I had little shorts on!).

Gold bling:
The dress came with a self-tie that threads through a tunnel (hee) in the back. But you know me - no one tells me where my waist is! Also, I have a massive belt collection, so why not wear something cooler?

ReplyDeleteThat gorgeous dress has definitely boosted my mood!
ReplyDeleteHearing you on dresses with self-ties and I too find myself reaching for my dresses less than before. If only I wasn't so bad of letting things go ... xxx
I forget about this dress; then you wear it, and I say “that is one of my favorite dresses of hers” every single time. Just gorgeous, and it looks lovely on you. -readerrita.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful dress and you wear it so well. The colour and the pattern are stunning...I also love how you accessorized it with that lovely belt, gorgeous earrings and bracelets. The heels match so well with the pink jacket...and they seem both comfortable and elegant...always a winning combo when it comes to shoes.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this dress and the shoes are well chosen. Such an elegant style.

This is a gawjus dress!!!! The shoes pick out the flowers so beautifully! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, silk!!!x
ReplyDeleteA perfect outfit, top to bottom! My 11 3/4 year old granddaughter says the snake at the end of your belt reminds her of Slytherin (Harry Potter, though I suspect you knew the reference. ;-))
ReplyDeleteCheers, Laurie
PS Next week she and I are going to the Fashion Institute of Technology Museum. (https://www.fitnyc.edu/museum/) I've never been there and she has an interest in fashion. If she likes it we can then try the Metropolitan Museum of Art on another day, as the Museum has a Costume Institute. (https://www.metmuseum.org/about-the-met/collection-areas/the-costume-institute)
