Gentle readers, feel free to drop me a comment and let me know what spring/summer thing you'd like to see me wear again!
This skirt's been one of my favourites over the 8 years that I've owned it.
- Top - Grey by Jason Wu, thrifted; first seen here in June with my rainbow skirt
- Skirt - vintage 50s, thrifted; last worn here (2nd outfit) in August for a vintage fair and shopping day with Cat
- Shoes - Marc; last seen here in August with the Murder Mystery dress
- Poncho (below) - Welsh, vintage 60s, thrifted; last seen here in May
This is the 15th outfit it's been in.
I decided to go with a fairly plain top this time. But even my black top is special. No boring stuff allowed!
It's silk with a high-low hem, and a classy designer, Jason Wu!

Oh, you wanna see the skirt. Very well.
There's the picador. He's preparing the bull for the matador by poking it with his pic (stick). If you look closely, you can see the blood on the bull! So Hemingway!

- Silk scarf - Halston, vintage 70s, thrifted
- Mask - Lazy Susan's
The stuff:
I've been waffling on these shoes more than once for the past 5 years, even pulling them out of the giveaway pile (twice!), and today they just hurt too much. Off to the giveaway pile for the third and final time! I'm adding red dressy shoes to my "want" list.

I caught Vizzini surveying the neighbourhood this morning from his scratching post in the bedroom.
"Officer Vizzini may be retired, but he still watches his 'hood."
He's doing really well with his medication and his sight is stabilizing, although not what it was - he's been chasing shoelaces, meowing at us, sleeping with us and yowling for his treats. So, pretty much normal.
Chilatole So good to hear Vizzini is on the mend and see the classic El picador!
ReplyDeleteChalato: Sorry for second comment but just figured out how to comment again and thank you. Your posts always lift my spirits and I’ve loved seeing more than a decade of your sartorial and artistic talents along with sharing your family.
ReplyDeleteOh yes that skirt! Haven't seen that one for a while on you. It's gorgeous. I'm so happy for you that Vizzini is doing better.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo for Officer Vizzini!
ReplyDeleteThose red shoes! The color and style, but alas not the heel height, are designed to buoy the spirit. I like a red shoe and a pump with a strap to help keep the shoe on the foot. I have a pair of orange-blue-green arche sandals with a 3 inch heel. While I do not wear them anymore due to the height, they will remain in my closet to oogle every once in a while because they always get me smiling. :)
Appreciating your jewelry, especially the cuff and bangle. I haven’t neglected your outfit ;) The skirt always impresses!
With cheers from the east coast, Laurie
I loved the shiny pleated skirt with the Escalade blouse.
ReplyDeleteSo happy Vizzini is doing better! I feel like we haven't seen the stained glass dress for a while and it is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteIt's too tight, Charlotte, so I'm sorry, I can't wear it. :( (Darned silk and its non-stretchiness).
DeleteI've always loved this skirt -- and hurray for Vizzini getting better :)
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is one of my favourites too and was in the running for my request.
ReplyDeleteIt looks absolutely perfect with the not-so-plain black top and that gorgeous vintage Welsh wool poncho, which is giving me Welsh wool envy :-)
Such a shame about the shoes, but they do look quite lethal, so I'm hearing you.
And last but certainly not least, I'm so happy that Vizzini is getting better! xxx
The skirt is a statement piece for sure and I just love how you styled it. You look fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear Vizzini has some sight back!
ReplyDeleteI really like this skirt and you wear it well! I love the cape with it as well. The shoes are stunning but I agree with you putting them in the giveaway pile - I just can't deal with uncomfortable shoes now, haha! I need all the comfort!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Vizzini is stabilizing with his sight.
ReplyDeleteThe skirt is very dramatic! I need to see you dancing a Pasa Doble with it!
Shame the shoes are painful! Kezzie x
This skirt is also a favourite of mine, glad to see it looking fab!.
ReplyDeleteSorry that the shoes have to go, love red shoes but a huge fan of Comfort so totally understand.
Lovely to see Officer Vizzini!
besos
Ah.. answer to my question in later posts... Vizzini is doing well on medication.
