Surrealist Monday in Bronze, Black and Dali

It was a rough Monday - I kinda need another weekend to recover from the last one. I was hugely busy, and it all felt a little surreal.
Of course, a Jammy Dress is going to help me see it through. This high-necked wool-blend black one is a beauty.

  • Leather jacket - Burberry, consignment, Vancouver; last worn here in December 2024 for a Mom-Day Adventure
  • Dress - Spanner, vintage 90s, thrifted; last seen here in February 2024 for our trip to Powell River
  • Shoes - Dali Signature, Fluevog; first worn here in June 2024 with gold pleats and red linen
  • Mink coat (below) - no label, vintage 60s, thrifted; last seen here a week ago

I added my patent leather bronze Burberry jacket over it for warmth, and for the loud sticky noises it makes, which make me giggle.
I have sparkly bronze tights on too. I liked the shimmer!

You can see the asymmetrical shape of the hem and the side slit here.
My vintage black slip is hanging out there - I'm so classy.

I really wanted to show off this outfit to my colleagues.
Thank goodness for all of you. I hope it is quieter tomorrow!

Without the jacket. This classic 90s shape is good on me, and I always feel fabulous when I wear this awesome dress.
But I know you are just staring at the shoes.

Minked up.
Another COLD day.

Accoutrements:
I liked the pink and orange together.

  • Toque - gift from Tammy
  • Brooch - Monet, vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Cashmere scarf - Portolano, thrifted
  • Leather gloves - consignment

The stuff:
My feet are fine after a day in these...because I barely walked anywhere! I'm doing bits of pink all this week as a reminder to love myself first on this V-Day week.

Brass bling:
I love my big ball necklace.

  • Earrings - vintage 70s, vintage mall
  • Necklace - consignment
  • Brass leopard ring - thrifted
  • Brass/glass ring - Raphael of Canada, vintage 70s, consignment

  1. Great dress, such a good cut. The unexpected shoes are genius. Have to comment on the jacket, even if I have seen it before - just WOW! Please never send it off to limbo :) If I remember correctly you had such thoughts at some point. Lise

    1. Lise, I actually consigned it with House of Savoy last year, it didn't sell (over 3 months!) and I took it back! Can you believe it? I'm never letting go of that jacket again!

    1. The swirly bits remind me of Dali's mustache! Thanks, Vix!

  4. Loving the shoes and the dress is fab. I like the idea of the jacket making 'rude' noises, too! The coat is amazing and I'm lusting after that big ball necklace...

    1. The jacket's noises are either giggle-inducing or off-putting, Vronni! I know, that ball necklace is right up your alley!

  5. Yup, eye immediately drawn to those awesome shoes. However, not even shoe math can save them! ;-) Good think you didn't have to walk in them more than, perhaps, to the bathroom!

Your outfit is calming and comforting, mmm, the best thing about jammy dressing is the comfort and ease they provide.
Here's to a calm week while you recoup your energy! We are hanging in and hanging on. It is surprisingly easier to deal with the coup in the US by taking action via phone calls, emails and protests than it is to do none of those things. Still, either way it is exhausting and I so look forward to reading your blog and substack posts as a breath of sanity!
    Thank you. 🙏🏼❤️
    Cheers, Laurie

    1. No, they are VERY high - my feet were happy to be out of them, even if I only wore them to walk to the bathroom and back!
Thanks, Laurie! Hang in there - I'm trying to be a little haven of sanity and quietude here, so glad it's working. I'm trying to keep my calm...inhale...exhale...

  6. Hope you all had a Superb Owl, even though it was an odd kind of game. You and L and your lovely friends looked amazing at the film gala!
