Monday Matchy Snowday Sickday

We knew it was coming - snow! We woke up to a sprinkling, and it increased over the day, but I awakened to an entire other urgency in the middle of the night with a very unhappy system (something I ate, likely). I made it through 3 hours of work before I came home and went to bed.
You can tell the weather by the graininess of my stair pictures.

  • Cotton sweater - LL Bean, consignment; last seen here in September 2024 for a Mom-Day
  • Leather embossed skirt - Bagatelle, vintage 80s. thrifted; last worn here in April 2024 with pinks and purples
  • Boots - L'Artiste; last seen here (2nd outfit) in November 2024 with my Buffy dress
  • Cashmere/baby alpaca coat (below) - Mallia, consignment; last worn here in January

Castle view!
The windows are all a-glow!

I still have two months to go in my Fall/Winter wardrobe, but the as-yet-unworns are revealing themselves. This is because the hangers are still backwards and certain sweaters catch my eye from the bottom of their piles.
Both the ribbed sweater and the lovely leather skirt are due for a wear, so why not together?

The boots tied the whole thing together.
And I added bronze and brass jewelry to match the gold in the brocade.

I liked the elastic/metal belt slung around my hips.
I didn't even show the outfit off to my colleagues - I just talked to my boss and then left.

Vizzini was very rambunctious this morning, wanting to go out in the hall.
"Quickly, we must get out in the hall!"

Little weirdo. This lovely warm coat kept me warm, although by the time I got home the wind was starting to blow. Brr!

Accoutrements:
I could have used a thicker scarf, but I couldn't resist wearing this gorgeous blue silk scarf - it matched so well.

  • Hat - M'Sieu Andre, thrifted
  • Silk scarf - Aga Khan Museum, thrifted; purchased here for $6.95
  • Leather gloves - Picabo, Powell River

The stuff:
The boots are fleece-lined and are snuggly warm. I carried them in my bag - no snow for them!

Brassy bling:
Lots of vintage here - the belt is probably the youngest.

  • Belt - thrifted
  • "Nest" brass cuff - Midzo, vintage expo
  • Brass cuff w/turquoise, pearls, crystals - Myka, consignment
  • Metal/glass flower brooch - vintage 60s, Mom's
  • Earrings - consignment
  • Brass Brutalist ring - vintage 70s, vintage mall
  • Brass/glass necklace and ring - Raphael Canada, vintage 70s, consignment

Another nap is needed...

    1. Thanks so much, Olivia! The boots are stunners, but I can only wear them in winter due to the fleece lining.

  2. I'm sorry to hear you were unwell, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed it is now a thing of the past!
I agree with Olivia on the magnificence of those brocade boots and you'll be glad to know the rest of your outfit gets my full approval too :-) xxx

    1. All clear, Ann! Just a minor bug, happily.
They are amazing boots - they're tricky to style, but worth the trouble. Thank you, my friend!

  3. You look spiffy especially given how you felt! Hoping you had a good nap and an even better sound night’s sleep. Am betting you had a certain furry someone who was more than happy to have you home. :)
Those boots are fabulous; L’Artiste knows how to create art on their boots. I miss my mid-calf boots of theirs but after many years of wear my toes screamed “we need a wider toe bed” so off they went as a donation.
Feel better my friend! Now I’m off for some breakfast and then to snuggle up with my laptop and your Limbo Sale and enjoy. :)
    Cheers, Laurie

    1. Clothing As Armour comes through again, Laurie! I did have a good nap (Vizzini nestled up with me, awww), and am feeling much better, thank you so much.
I bought these locally, and the store no longer carries that brand, but they are so gorgeous, aren't they? Aw, sorry to hear you said goodbye to a pair, but the feet speak loud and clear!
Thank you so much for your lovely comments! I truly appreciate them.

  7. Oh I do hope you feel better now. Here the flu is in full range and with that a lot of people have stomach issues too. That's winter right. Such a pity so little people saw your outfit!
