Which is okay, as they are a HIGH heel - they won't be in frequent rotation.

Vizzini joined me for a bunch of my pics, silly boy.
"I heard my fans calling."
I pulled this red linen/cotton tunic as the orangey-red colour harmonized well with the orange and red in the shoes, but what to wear under it? It's a very artsy-feeling piece, which demands bold styling.
I wore wide swooshy trousers with it (silk palazzos and actual pajama pants!) on both previous wearings, so I tried a bunch of different bottoms last night - a short skirt (no), skinny pants (eh) and then looked at my flowy skirts.
The tunic has an unusual shape with the big cut-out on the front. I loved how the skirt fills the front of it.
The back is long and angled. So unusual, but it's also hard to style, so I felt good about discovering this combination.
The pleats of the skirt frothed forward as I walked, and the colour picked up the gold stars on the shoes. I still had to gather the skirt into my lap when in my grabby office chair to avoid the wheels! Incognito.
It was warm, but overcast all day. I looped this big scarf around my shoulders for just a touch of warmth.
Accoutrements:
I'd been waiting for an outfit to wear this new-to-me scarf with.
- Purse - Banana Republic, consignment
- Scarf - Picasso, thrifted; purchased here for $6.95
The stuff:
People swooned over my Dali shoes! I loved wearing them, but oof, by 3pm I was ready to have them OFF. I put squishy gel inserts in them, which helped, but I'll be babying my feet for a few days after these.
Bold bling:
I rolled with the bold in my accessories.
- Necklace - vintage, thrifted
- Jeweled cuff - Loren Hope, consignment, Sidney
- Gold/stone bracelet - D'Orlan, vintage 70s, vintage mall, gift from L
- Wood Klimt ring - consignment
- Orange plastic ring - Italian, vintage 60s, vintage mall
- Earrings - vintage, consignment
Wowza! This outfit is stunning. But of course it would be, as you reverse engineered it from the delightful shoes upward! (Plus it’s you, so…double-plus yeah!) But, the heel on those fab shoes is dead serious; you are a much braver soul (sole? Haha) than I.

I couldn't possibly walk in those shoes without sustaining a serious back injury, so kudos for wearing them until 3 pm! They couldn't have had a more perfect debut than as part of this stunner of an outfit. Love the scarf, and that necklace is one of my favourites of yours! xxx
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this outfit Sheila - except for the fact that your shoes hurt your feet a little. Hopefully they will be kinder next time you get them out for another fantastic wear, they are really fun. That skirt looks like it was made to be worn with the tunic as well, such a good choice!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen a tunic top with a shape quite like that one, but you've managed to make it work. Love the bronze pleats and the shoes, although, I second Ann - I don't think I could wear them without some repercussions.
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame that the shoes hurt you after a while as they are TERRIFIC. I have done away with shoes that hurt (as in high heels) and I am still pining for them.
