Landscape-y and Drapey

I totally whiffed on it being Valentine's Day today - I usually wear something heart-themed or pink or red.
Nope, it didn't even cross my mind!

  • Blouse - Obakki, consignment, Powell River; purchased here for $24.00
  • Skirt - Megan Salmon Somersault Sculpted Pleat Skirt, Fountainhead collection, Winter 2020, thrifted; first worn here in January on a Snow Day
  • Boots - Coffee Kope Tiam, Fluevog; last seen here in October 2023 with autumn colours
  • Coat (below) - Halston, vintage 70s, consignment, Sidney; last worn here a couple of weekends ago

Which is funny, because I bought L a few chocolates (of course, I bought some for myself), plus some sale candy for the upcoming long weekend. It's not like I was unaware of it!
But we don't really do Valentine's Day - every day is an opportunity to show the love to the people in your life. "Maybe time running out is a gift."

The outfit! I enjoyed the drapey flow of it, and I loved touching the fabric - several colleagues touched the sash.
The print is very landscape-y...I see sand dunes, clouds, distant hills, low tides.

It's a spring/summer top, though - I wore a tank under it, but I was still chilled all day.
I continue to love this gorgeous, quality skirt.

I did wear a tiny bit of red!
I had to have a little colour.

My Halston coat wrestled mightily with the skirt as I walked to and from work.
My half-slip rode up to my waist, and the skirt rotated and bunched. Note to self: these items are not friends.

Accoutrements:
I loved these new leather gloves - such a great vibrant colour!

  • Beret - Parkhurst, consignment
  • Silk scarf - Janie Besner, thrifted
  • Gloves - Picabo, Powell River; purchased here for $13.00

It was rather chilly out - I wished for a warmer scarf.

The stuff:
These boots are nearing their 13th anniversary, and I still love them. Did you notice the gold-spotted tights? Those were picked up at Dots a couple of weeks ago.

Bold bling:
My necklace had many admirers. "It's so BIG."

  • Cuff - consignment
  • Disc bracelet - J. Crew, consignment
  • Necklace - Indian, consignment
  • Feather ring - Fossil, thrifted
  • Brass ring - vintage 70s, vintage mall
  • Earrings - vintage 70s, vintage mall

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you out there - I hope you know how much I appreciate your presence.

  1. You are equally appreciated!
I love your outfit! The top also reminds me of layers of agate too! I'd be wanting to touch the sash too, to see how thick the material was.
The Halston is so stylish. Kezzie x

  2. Okay, your comment sent me on a scavenger hunt to find the gold spotted tights! Find them I did, but only by enlarging the first image. Yay!
Your outfit is quite calming with all the nature imagery of the top. Ah…..
We don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day either, Fred says it is a Hallmark Holiday. However, with a grin on his face and a twinkle in his eyes he did offer me a Cheerio yesterday…they are currently in the shape of hearts. ;)
Thank you for your continued blogging. Your words, wisdom, outfits and adventures are all appreciated and at varying times provide a tonic. Since they are all a part of you, it is you who is appreciated!
    Cheers, Laurie

  3. We don't really do Valentine's Day, but there's no way of forgetting about it as it's all around. I absolutely share your sentiment that every day is an opportunity to show love to the people in your life!
