Hello! I'm back! And it's been a lovely weekend, not full of much of anything other than getting in my time with my fam, L and Vizzini. Life's getting busier and I really do need that downtime to psych myself up to face the world.
Armouring up in my clothes is a frequent tool I use.
Kicking off my weekend in style! I felt absolutely marvelous in this outfit.
- Top - Lyman by Frank Lyman, thrifted; purchased here for $10.00
- Trousers - Zara, thrifted; last worn here in June with not-Van Herpen and floral
- Shoes - Marquess Swordfish Floyd, Fluevog; first seen here a couple of weeks ago for a Mom-Day adventure
I adored wearing my new-to-me sheer mesh shirt.
The sleeves have such DRAMA!
I twisted them up and tucked them inside the slimmer part of the sleeve to eat my lunch, use the sink and go to the bathroom.
I enjoyed flopping them around otherwise.
My Big Lady Boss Pants always get comments.
I really liked them with the top and the shoes - it all just worked well for me, which felt like clothing karma after the weird week it's been.
I am looking forward to wearing the top again. This is the seventh wearing of the trousers since I bought them in February 2020.
This is how I looked out in the wild - I walked to and from work in the shoes.
I flipped the scarf around to cover my upper back on the way home.
- Scarf - La Dear, vintage, thrifted
- Mask - by Mom
As noted, I wore these all day - they are so comfy! I intend to wear these to death, so get used to 'em.
Those giant sleeves are perfect for showing off bracelets and rings.
- Silver/enamel cuff - Mexican, thrifted
- Bangle - Alexis Bittar, consignment, Sidney
- Silver/aventurine ring - consignment
- Silver/enamel ring - antique shop, Sidney
- Earrings - Betsey Johnson, swap from Cat
L and I hung out and played board games all weekend, plus we played Ulti on Saturday morning. We went out for brunch afterwards - I wore my game gear - and grocery shopped, followed by more board games, naps and chill-out time. No further outfits (a nice break), but I did capture this.
"Oh, I thought we were still napping."
He's been very happy with the warm weather (not too hot, not too cold).
Thanks so much for popping by!
What an absolutely stunning outfit, Sheila! You look amazing :)ReplyDelete
Aw, thanks, Cynthia!Delete
I love the drama of that top and it's so perfect with the boss lady pants! You look fantastic, and I'm glad you had a nice relaxing weekend too!ReplyDelete
I ditto Cynthia’s and Mica’s comments! Before even seeing what you wrote I immediately thought ‘this is a perfect empowering outfit’ and wasn’t surprised to then read that you felt marvelous in it. Sometimes an outfit is just right and it radiates within which then radiates without. :)ReplyDelete
Glad you enjoyed your weekend!
Yup, I swooshed around, feeling very Boss-ish and empowered. I love it when an outfit sings for me. Thank you, Laurie - I hope you had a good one too!Delete
I like your choice of words…when an outfit sings to me. ❤️Delete
Weekend was lovely, thanks, spent it celebrating a baby with family who I last saw two weekends ago. Such a sweet return to seeing family in person and more frequently after so many months of not being able to.
Absolutely stunning blouse! I love red, so those pants had me swooning.ReplyDelete
Red's one of my favourites too, Sam. Thank you!Delete
Sounds like a good relaxed weekend! Sometimes it's very nice to just stay at home. Especially after a busy week. Have a great start of the new one!ReplyDelete
It was just what I needed. Thanks, Nancy!Delete
Quite envious of your relaxing weekend, as we are still running away from next door's noise ...ReplyDelete
Anyway, let's talk about clothes! Your sheer mesh shirt is gorgeous, and I'm loving the drama supplied by the sleeves, which I would definitely have gotten in twist by the end of the day :-)
Perfect pairing with the red Lady Boss Pants! And oh, hello Vizzini! xxx
Oh gosh, that sucks, Ann, sorry to hear that! We did have a chorus of raucous seagulls, though!Delete
Thank you so much - I loved wearing it.
What a fab outfit, Sheila. I remember those tops from the 1990s with the very impractical sleeves but oh they do look good. Love your big boss lady pants and the new shoes are MAGNIFICENT!!ReplyDelete
Hope you have a great week,
I think this one is from the last "giant sleeves" era (mid-00s), not as early as the 90s. Thank you, Vronni! Happy week to you!Delete
I love roses, you look great!ReplyDelete
Me too, thanks, Kim!Delete
Hi Sheila--I'm Jay Nelson and I've happily been receiving your blog for some years now, but did not get the last two in my email in-box. Could you please see if I was inadvertently removed from the list. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!ReplyDelete
Blogger no longer provides an email feed, sorry, Jay. Please bookmark my blog address - I post 4-5 times a week. Thank you for your comment and for reading.Delete
Thank you, Sheila. I've bookmarked your blog and will check it daily. Of all the style blogs I follow, yours is at once the most useful and inventive.Delete
Aw, thank you, Jay, that's so sweet and kind. :)Delete
That Frank Lyman top was a steal! And I'm loving the footwear too. So original as usual beautiful Sheila!ReplyDelete
I know, right? Thanks, Lucy!Delete
Girl, those SLEEVES....I always admire them on others, but as a cellist in my former life, I was never able to pull them off (so to speak). Guns and Roses for sure. :-)ReplyDelete
I get that, Zida! In my old "normal" the sleeves would have severely gotten in my way. Yes! GnR for sure!Delete
This is wonder outfit Sheila! The top is divine and works so well with both trousers and shoes. And my oh my, what shoes they are!ReplyDelete
Thank you so much, Anna! Aren't the shoes fab?Delete
Oh the drama! I love that top! xxxReplyDelete
Me too, Vix, thanks!Delete

The top is awesome - I really love it. Thank you! I knew you'd love the shoes! :)Delete

Beautiful outfit. You are right, every item really works well with the rest. You must have turned heads.ReplyDelete
I love the look of sleeves like that but so hard to wash your hands haha. Good thing they tuck up easily!ReplyDelete
