Sheer and Strapless for Work

Tuesdays after a long weekend are just evil. It's like Monday, only 10 times worse.

But enough of that, let's get down to the outfit.
I love wearing this strapless dress over blouses to make it work-appropriate. I haven't ever worn it with this sheer blouse before, so something new! I also wanted to show off my new-to-me copper necklace.

The blouse is a blue sheer one, last worn on my birthday week in October (here, 2nd outfit). I complained then about not wearing it enough, and then here I go wearing it a month later!
The strapless dress is a dark charcoal grey wool pinstripe (and it has a bubble hem, and pockets!). It's the Dress of Many Adjectives! I last wore it in the December 2012 capsule (recap here) in this outfit.
Showing my ink - I kind of forgot about the back...
You might recall that this was one of the Fall 2013 inspirations that I intended to play with - "Don't Dress Safe".
Yeah, I've been doing that for years - stop copying me! Ha!

The stuff:
Classic Ralph Lauren pumps tone nicely with all the copper. I last wore them here in September with my leather pants (I need to wear those again soon).

All vintage copper bling:
The bracelet was my grandmother's; I've found all the rest at vintage fairs.

Blouse (Express, consignment), dress (Club Monaco, consignment), shoes (Ralph Lauren), belt (Club Monaco), necklace/cuff/earrings (Renoir, vintage 50s/60s, cuff by Grandma J).

  7. The sheer blouse and strapless dress work brilliantly together. Loving all the tan and copper accessories, they make the outfit slightly more of a daytime/work look. Lovely! xxx

  8. I clicked so fast when I saw your first photo on the steps. This is my first comment to you, but have been reading for a while. Just beautiful, I love that look!

  9. I love this!! I love how you get a peek of your fab ink through the sheer blouse!! Plus the copper bling really shows off against the solids!
I'm with you on the cute kitten heels!!! Sometimes ya just gotta grab them up if they are a staple and good price! I just snagged ANOTHER pair of leather booties for $4--they have a cute little 1" wedge and are super comfortable. My boot addiction is getting ridiculous.

  10. Gorgeous Sheila. I am on the lookout for a strapless dress that I can do the same with. This is so streamlined and 'tidy' looking, if that makes sense? Great that you give a flash of tatts with the sheer shirt! Xx

I copied you a while back and with the see through top you're wearing now, I totally want to
