Copper, Orange and Blue Sequins

The countdown to time off has started! And I'm attempting to zing up my moods by wearing some colour and sparkly things.
Like this fun sequined skirt. Is it orange or blue? YES.

  • Blazer - InWear; last seen here in September with a gone orange dress
  • Sweater - Intimate, vintage 60s, thrifted; last worn here in November with some leather sunshine
  • Skirt - Culture; first seen here exactly a year ago, in December 2021
  • Shoes - Go Groovy Aubrey, Fluevog; last worn here in October with bronze velvet rage
  • Mink coat (below) - vintage, thrifted; first worn here on the weekend

I love orange and blue together, so when I saw this skirt last year at Dots I had to have it.
The sequins fade from orange to blue and stick out from the stretchy fabric of the skirt. It's a fun textile.

I didn't realize until the day was nearly over that I had the skirt twisted - the side slit is actually supposed to be on the thigh.
No wonder it got all fussy and snagged the heck out of these tights.

Masked up. I wore it on my walk home to keep my face from freezing.
It was so cold in the office today - I never took the blazer off.

Outerwear - if it's in the negatives, bring out the mink!
As I type this, it's -5 out and snowing sideways. We're in for a couple of cold, snowy days.

Fully bundled up.
I wore my Doc Martens and thick socks to walk to and from work (as I do every day), and I was very snuggly and warm in my coat, as I slogged home with snow pelting me in the face.

Accoutrements:
I have discovered that silk scarves work well with fur.

  • Hat - M&S, consignment, Powell River
  • Scarf - Forele, consignment
  • Gloves - Club Monaco, consignment
  • Mask - by Mom

The stuff:
Boots might have been warmer, but I love these funky orange shoes.

Copper bling:
I find copper such a warm colour, perfect for this time of year. These are odds and ends, collected over the past 10 years.

  • Necklace - vintage 60s, consignment
  • Skinny bracelet - Renoir, vintage 50s, thrifted
  • Bracelet/earrings - Renoir, vintage 50s, vintage fair
  • Brooch - vintage 60s, thrifted
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes

  1. I love orange and blue worn together, too - a lot of Tibetan jewellery combines turquoise and coral so we're not alone .
Those shoes are wonderful and wearing your mask in Arctic temperatures is a good idea, I should have worn one of my quilted ones last week! xxx

  2. I really like orange and blue together - despite the snagging that is a very fun skirt! Hopefully it stopped being so snagtastic when you changed the slit around!

I also can't even imagine how cold that is - it's never ever been negative temps here in Brisbane since the start of measuring I don't think!
