I also loaded on the armour - lots of bling.
- Tunic - Sympli, thrifted; last worn here (2nd outfit) in September with Morris print pants
- Turtleneck - Yest; last seen here (2nd outfit) in October with bold stripes and a lush moto
- Trousers - H&M, consignment; purchased here for $18.00
- Shoes - Asos, consignment; last worn here in February with my Kenzo skater-dress
- Coat (below) - Mallia, consignment; last seen here a week ago
You know I really like a new item when I wear it right away - these tartan trousers are awesome.
I layered a thin red turtleneck sweater under this even thinner tunic for extra warmth. The tunic is 95% silk, plus a touch of stretch, and is gorgeous, but I always have to wear full coverage on my bottom half.
It doesn't show that well in pictures, but it's slit very deeply on each side, right up to my waist. A gust of wind, and hello!

See? Also showing off the trousers.
I'm shocked that H&M actually lined up the plaids on the front and back. This must be old H&M.

- Toque - H&M, consignment; purchased here for $10.00
- Gloves - consignment
- Scarf - Roots, thrifted, L's
- Mask - by Mom
I also put the gloves into the giveaway pile - they are too big on me. Plus, I always think they're red (they're pink, arg, they look like red in some lights).
The stuff:
Love these shoes! The vintage 80s red lacy knee-highs were thrifted a couple of months ago for a few dollars - they popped a hole in the toe but are still wearable.

How are you doing with the holiday season? Wearing lots of armour?
Hope the armour helped get you through the day! :) I really like the printed pants with the black tunic, it's a lovely combination and the bling works so well with the black and red of the pants. It's too hot here for much accessorising - definitely into the simple summer heat driven accessory choices at the moment, especially with the crazy humidity!
ReplyDeleteOh tartan trousers! So Vivienne! You should have worn her jacket on it. I know that's too matchy matchy for you, lol. Very cool trousers, absolutely love them.
ReplyDeleteWhen the going gets tough, the tough get... comfortable. :)
ReplyDeleteYesterday was a Monday for sure. My armour is extra blankets in my lap. I really like the tartan pants. Not remotely similar, but reminds me I would like a pair of hounds tooth fabric pants.
ReplyDeleteBack in the 1980s I lived in tartan trousers, so much so that the lads from the boys' school called me "Rupert Bear" (a 102-year old British newspaper cartoon!) Yours look fab and I'm impressed by the pattern matching.
ReplyDeleteMy armour is currently my Afghan coat, sheepskin hat, 20 hole Doc Martens and sheepskin mittens to prevent hypothermia! xxx
Love the plaid trouser/tunic outfit! What a shame about the gloves; they are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI've started wearing my fur coat - it's that bloody cold here..
xxx
Those H&M tartan trousers are even better on, and I can't believe they lined up the pattern either. I'm loving the look of the trousers + tunic + red turtleneck, and I am definitely getting the goth vibes! I was just thinking I need a pair of red tartan gloves, when I read yours are actually pink ...
ReplyDeleteWe have gone sub-zero, so I'm living in my jumpers layered over thermals, and my current armour is my fur collared and hemmed Princess coat. Feeling sorry for my bosses who are visiting us from Miami :-) xxx
Greetings from another Rupert bear! I had a pair like that as a teen and I was obsessed with them! My friend had a fancy dress party and I went as a tartan tart! (Named for the satisfying
ReplyDeleteAlliteration) Everything I wore was tartan!! Even a mini rucksack!
You look super! Cbc has a lovely pair of green and navy tartan trousers! Kezzie xx
I love the tartan trousers - that's an item that has been on my "want" list for ages, but I have terrible luck finding pants that fit me. I will keep looking though.
ReplyDeleteLove this comfy-as-pyjamas kind of fabulousness with lots of badass jewellery and cool shoes!, those tartan trousers rock! Always a great idea to go for tartan! and goth-y!
