On-the-Fly Blue Friday

L and I (and our usual cohort of cronies) are off to a super-fun dress-up event tonight, so I've got to get this post done quickly, so I can get dinner and my outfit assembled.
I spent a lot of time last night building my outfit and thinking about all the details (make-up, hair - stay tuned, I'll be using THIS), and I totally spaced and forgot to do a work outfit for today! Whoops!

  • Top - Gap, thrifted; last seen here in November 2017 with a gold skirt
  • Skirt - J. Crew, thrifted; last worn here in October with the same tights and shoes (so original)
  • Shoes - Room 502 Entrance, Fluevog; last seen here being corporately rebellious in November 2017
  • Leather jacket (below) - A&S Selections, thrifted; last worn here in January

Better come up with something in the morning fast!

"I bet I know what your favourite colour is," commented a lady on the bus today. What gave it away?

Easy outfit, comfy outfit. I hauled 8 ginormous garbage bins from the middle of a busy street into my office building - in the rain! - and then wrangled them onto the elevators (4 trips). Cleaning out an office is not a fun thing.
But at least I looked stylish while I did it!

Outerwear - more purple!
It's raining now, and we're in for a cold snap next week. Oh joy, I can't wait.

  • Scarf - gift from L
  • Wool gloves - Parkhurst

The stuff:
Comfy shoes, after yesterday's. These make me think of Prince!

Minimal bling:
 That whole not-planning thing.

  • Earrings - 10th anniversary gift from L
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes

I will be back on Sunday with tales of wonder and excitement! For now, I shall leave you with someone who was very excited to see me when I got home.
"The Woman is here! I rub on her feet!"
This lasts for a while, until he remembers he hasn't been fed.

Happy weekend, my friends!

  1. I hate it when I don't have an outfit planned the night before, and have to do it in the morning. I just get in a tizz, and with my head all over the place, I just can't seem to get it right. But you did it, Sheila! You're looking gorgeous in all those blues and purples. I'm especially loving the skirt and those stunning shoes! Looking forward to read all about the dress-up event, and I'm of course dying to see what you'll be wearing! xxx

  3. This is such a cool outfit, Sheila! I love the mix of blues and purples together. That skirt is so pretty and I love the shoes! A crimper?!! I loved crimping my hair in the eighties and spent hours crimping my long hair until it almost burnt off! Ha! ;) I look forward to the pics from your party! XXX

  7. For a last minute outfit this is pretty cool Sheila. I love those shoes and was having a moment of sheer envy when I had to remind myself that I too could have had many pairs of Fluevogs if I hadn't chosen to have two wonderful children - we both won!

    1. Bags? They were huge plastic bins, over 4 feet high! It was awful! Thanks so much, hon.

  9. Love, love, love this outfit. So cool. Now I want those shoes. They are way out of my comfort zone but if they look as good on me as they do on you.. wow.
