Return of the Sparkly Chicken Leg Tights

Whew, another late night, but this time it was because I was back at my WW meeting, after a hiatus of 4 weeks. I had to wear something really colourful for my group.
Bam! In your face!

  • Dress - Desigual by Christian Lacroix, thrifted; purchased here on the weekend for $24.00
  • Boots - Indigo by Clark's; last worn here over Christmas 2015

I saved this fabulously colourful dress for today's outfit. It was lovely to wear - a true "jammy dress" (as in pyjamas). I may have crowed about getting a Lacroix Desigual dress for $24 bucks a few times, hee hee.

But most people reacted to the tights really strongly, in a positive way. I bought these years ago on deep clearance at the Bay department store - go figure, not everyone wants bright yellow tights with steel grey/silver lame (lah-MAY!). Yellow tights always remind me of bird legs, so I dubbed these my sparkly chicken leg tights.
I'd intended to do a black boot, but I liked the warmer tone of the caramel leather better. I'm glad I switched. The black was too harsh.

The stuff:
I adore these boots. They're getting nicely beat up.

Simple bling:
In which I remember that I wore a belt. The dress has an elasticated waist and drapes so that I don't really need a belt, but I have a whack of access cards and keys that I wear all day at my regular job, so I like having the belt for that purpose.

  • Belt - Club Monaco
  • Cuff - Catalyst Reaction, thrifted
  • Earrings - Glee

I didn't actually take any of my outfit pictures with the cuff on - I took it to work to give to my coworker Fiona, who loves dragonflies. Unfortunately, it was too small, so I snapped it on and wore it for the day.

One more day till the weekend!

  4. Oh, that dress! That amazing score, even more so because it looks so fantastic on. I laughed at the chicken legs reference. Too bad I don't see cool tights like these anymore. At the Bay now they have a vast selection of black or black tights. Puh.

  5. Not sure which I love the most, the dress or the tights. They're both sensational. Am thinking I ought to keep a note of everything I covet of yours and copy you in. That way when you're ready to dispose of it you could consider me along with your co-workers. Am a bit worried that fellow blogger may never usurp co-worker. Ever.

  6. Really nice and good on you. Wearing boots probably was the trick to avoid the birdleg-issue.

  10. They're fabulous and ever-so-chic, plus they reminded me of the sort of (art/decor) styles one encounters in Morocco (or so the travel shows tell/show me - I've not yet been there myself).
