Crisp White and Chrysanthemums

Spring has sprung!
I felt positively "normal" in my white shirt. Thank goodness for lavender shoes and my chrysanthemum skirt. I can't be going completely normcore on you guys!

  • Shirt - LL Bean, consignment; purchased here last weekend for $8.00
  • Skirt - Vivienne Tam, consignment; last seen here in September 2014 with cream brocade
  • Shoes - Camper; last seen here, oh, same time as the skirt, here in September 2014

I have weird associations with this skirt - the first time I wore it (here, in April 2010) is the day I took my last picture with my dear kitty Othello, before we had to put him down due to cancer. Aw...*sniff*
The shirt was excellent - no pulling buttons, all comfy and staying in place like a Good Shirt should.

The stuff:
I love these shoes so much. They are like wearing slippers.

Yellow and gold bling:
I liked the big necklace filling in the neckline of the shirt.

  • Necklace - consignment $10 grab bag
  • Belt - Nygard
  • Cuff - thrifted
  • Bakelite earrings - vintage 60s, vintage fair
  • Dad's ring - 1960s, Frances Jewellers
  • Crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery gift shop

I have "classed up" the belt by changing the blue elastic band to a white one. Yeah, pure class, that's me.

Vizzini does not want me to go to my WW meeting:
"Stay home and cuddle with me!"
I love that my cats have always been part of my blog.

  2. I like seeing your cat on the blog too Sheila! It's nice to share little snippets, and even though Othello is gone you still have your memories, as well as the photos and stories you shared living on through your blog.

Hope you had a happy day wearing this skirt and were cheered up by the bright colours and accessories, a weren't too sad about thinking about the skirt's first wear and your beautiful cat.

  3. Nothing like a crisp, white shirt to liven up ANY outfit....NOT that your skirt NEEDS any livening up. This is a great look!

  6. I love that Vizzini is part of your blog now too.
Yes, spring has sprung, no question. Isn't is grand?
I have my eye on your shoe heel, well, the whole shoe really, but the heel looks about right for a little lift and great comfort.

  7. Cats HAVE to be part of your blog - they demand it! Love that skirt, despite the sad associations, and even though the appeal of the classic Crisp White Shirt rather eludes me, it does look great with the bold print of the skirt. You couldn't look normcore if you tries, Sheila! xxx

  8. I relate to that sort of association with clothing.
I wish it didn't happen but it does.
I think your new white shirt looks splendid.
